Damn, not like you're getting out and pushing that off the sandbar...

I feel for the that captain as that is an extremely busy and vital shipping route. I'm betting that the captain and crew are probably taking a lot of abuse right about now.

That whole area is a harsh place to live. The dust often tries its best to block out the sun as it clogs your air passages, and the heat can be rough. The food and the people there are pretty interesting though.

Saw an article that said they lost power during a wind/sand storm. Shipping is backed up enough already. This won’t help.

So...how many people get fired and who all gets sue(z)d into oblivion?

Wow! I traveled through the Suez on USS GEORGIA (BLUE) surfaced, a SSGN submarine about 10 years ago. Definitely was a cool experience and cant image it being blocked. Egypt charges an arm and a leg for every vessel that passes through so I can only image it's costing the cash.

A little Minnesota humor from this, too good not to share.

For those not familiar, there is a KMart store that was built right over a pretty major road in Minneapolis. Sore subject around here, everyone thinks it should be taken out and the road replaced. Google Maps

I wonder how this will effect the already stressed supply chain issues around the world.........

Gotta feeling they'll have to unload a lot of its cargo; maybe then they can push it straight again. Super costly $$$$!

In the 60’s Egypt sunk ships on both ends of the canal and then set out a bunch of mines, ships were stuck in the canal for 8 years. The United States cleaned up the mess in ‘74.

I don't know if it my eyes, but when I look at the picture it looks to me that the bulb on the bow is bent to starboard. IDK, maybe the angle of the photo taken as the waterline paint lines are off, but it looks straight on when you look up the bow.
