Hello all, I am considering purchasing a 2017 Yamaha AR210 and want to know what the best accessories to buy/install are to create good wakes for surfing. At this point, the main things I have seen are FatSacs and other ballasts, side mounted systems like swells, and rear mounted wedges. I know ballast is the main thing to get, but beyond that, what is the best way to create that surfable wake with the twin jet motors back there? Do side mounted swells reduce or eliminate the washout, or is a rear mounted wedge needed for that? Are there any other really good systems out there for the AR210? Looking for a good balance between price, ease of install, and effectiveness of system.

Thanks in advance!

Hundreds of threads posted on this topic here. Just do a quick search and you will get your answer. Suck gates do not work on Yamaha jet boats because of the jet blast. Wake Wedge is still the #1 surfing add on for Yamaha jet boats 7 years running.

Weight, speed control, and shaping is what it's all about.

Weight = you'll need more than stock ballast for sure.

Speed control = need accurate speed to create/maintain the wave

Shaping = either the Wake Wedge or the Booster will curl the wave. WW is a heavy favorite on the forums. Wake Booster is the Yamaha product that works almost as good for almost the price.

Thanks for both of your responses! Learning a lot today!

Let me know if you have any questions regarding a GPS speed control. It will make it a lot easier to maintain a wave in these jet boats!
And by far one of the simplest system I have installed to date!
