Hello Everyone,

I had this plug in the glove box of our new 2015 AR240 when we picked it up. I never worried about what it was until now. I'm getting the the boat ready to winterize. I'm wondering if I need to remove the transducer to drain the water? If there is any water in the transducer for the temperature readings in Connext. See pictures below.

No need to pull it but you should soak up or vacuum any water in your bilges.

I believe the plug is included in case you ever have to send your transducer in for service.

It is difficult to access the area where the transducer is. If you want to get most of the water in that area out I suggest that you simply pull the drain plug and raise the front of the trailer either with a jack or by parking it on an incline.

Hey Ronnie,

That makes sense. I was wondering why they included it. I haven't located or seen the back side of the transducer. I'm assuming you get at it from the swim platform inspection hatch.

I was just wondering what this thing was for. Makes sense to use it if you have to service transducer.

I have/had the instructions that came with it. Thy indicate that it is used to install the transducer properly but I think, based in what I've read elsewhere, that it is plug that temporarily replaces the transducer when the transducer is removed for stervice, repair or replacement.

I hope I never have to deal with the transducer as it is a ral PItA to get access to that area as well as reinstall all of the parts covering that area.

It appears that you installed a in hull transducer in the same area as the factory transducer. How is that working for you or would you choose a different area. I have a 2016 242 limited and have a in hull that I want to mount and am not sure of where the best place would be. Thanks
