Well I have 75 hours on the boat I believe and I am going to change the oil for the second time. It is 60 hours give or take past the first oil change I did. Was hoping to finish the season and then do it, but I have a feeling I am going to go past 100 hours, probably 15-20 hrs past if we do some Salmon trolling in Late September/October. Pretty excited to put all the watersports crap away and get some fishing me time. Will change the oil again once I get her ready for the winter. I don't think it would be a good thing to push it.

GG, Broken Oil wrench and it opened up the side of the oil filter a bit. Thank god I had a puppy pad under it. Off to Autozone.

Wow 75 hrs in Michigan’s short summer! Sounds like you’ve been out a lot.?

All i do is pull kids and their friends around in circles one day every weekend, and kill a full tank of gas pretty much. Then we cruise around. Lake St. Clair alot, everything is 8 miles away from eachother lol.

We don't sandbar much

I heard that brother, cant wait for it to be too cold for the kids and boss to go out. Need some me and fishing rod time fo sho.
I'm at 50 hrs since late may, and about to do another oil change. Unsure of how they calculate the hours? Is a 50 hrs due at 60 if you did the maintenance at 10? Is 100 hr due at 150 because you did it at 50? What's your take?

I figure 50 at 50 and 100 and 100 and then so on, just to keep it simple to remember. Cant really over change the oil and over maintain. I like to err on the side of caution.

FWIW... I was told this evening, by the 13yr old, that Saturday there will be 7 Teenage Girls now and the Admiral with me on the boat and they want to make sure I take the Ridiculous Big Ass No Where to Store IT Hate Pumping It up SUPER MABEL HD 3 Person.............. And make sure you have a full tank of gas.

Since they like it so much...... Geez. I guess I am the Boat Driver/Monkey

I feel like you’re going to change the oil twice before the end of this season if not 3!!! ?
Make memories, they will remember them.

@HangOutdoors .....FWIW....I agree 100% - best insurance ever. Great if you keep the boat even better if you sell it. Keep receipts!

I was thinking about lashing the damn thing to the top of the Bimini, but then thought that is ridiculous. Honestly, do I think I own a flying bridge?

Same tube, same boat, same problem. I bought a portable air pump to take on board, going to see how long old super mable takes to blow up now. Kids really wanted the great big mable, no way, my first car was smaller than that thing.

I use my dewalt cordless air pump. It works great, it still takes while and as it inflates and u adjust out the tube inside the damn thing pushes me off the swim platform.

Ha! That’s my boating life on the Kankakee River! Blowing up tubes, deflating tubes, pulling kids around.

@HangOutdoors .....yes, as the slave of a bunch of teenage girls that is probably your exact designation. I am now grand father to teenage girls and was given instructions this morning (respectfully, mind you) of what would be expected on the water today! Thas said, watching them swim with masks looking for fish, jumping/diving off the transom, tubing and laughing and NOT watching TikTok, facetiming a bunch of scrawny boys or hanging-out in a mall was GREAT!!!!!

I also changed the spark plugs as well. Figured what the heck. Was considering Iridium but went with the standard NGK CR9EB (6955). Checked all clamps on hoses and sprayed some Yamalube Spray into hinge points etc. Then gave the engine compartment a quick bath.

Yesterday on the water, the boat felt better and the engines felt smoother. Perhaps it was too much sun, but even the Admiral said the engines felt smoother. The sound also seemed more in tune. Not really sure how to explain it.

I wonder with all the no Wake Cruising on LSC the week before up the rivers and delta, probably 20+ miles of it, fouls the plugs. But just a guess.

Perhaps I am full of shit, but none-the-less, it ran and felt great.

Fuel injected engines often run rich at low rpm, you need to wind up the engines from time to time to get the plugs up to temp and that will help keep them clean. I always notice the engines are a tad rougher when pulling out of the dock as the warm up idle is rich. I can feel they're smoother after a brief blast above 5000rpm which gets the plugs hot.

I didn't think I'd have to worry until the fall but we hit 48.2 hours yesterday - the boat is just too much fun to drive and we've been doing a lot more exploring and blasting around teasing Baja and Fountain boats.
?
Will need to buy an extractor and do the change in the next week, and then another for winter storage.

Yes, we are driving around a lot. Having a great time. Still waiting for the day I can fish.

@HangOutdoors Once you have that tube inflated, just hook the rope "tight" to the tow eye on the swim platform. Then have a short section of the rope to the rear cleat. It'll hang on while you're underway, then you don't have to fight it all the time.

I'll find a pic of how we do ours. It's not terribly.
