Please consider that many of the "people who didnt buy the product" actually know a thing or two about jet boating and have spent countelss hours trying to build a better wave behind our Yammies.
Many have had reservations about the product all along.
Are you going to show us your results with the new TVWs? That's what people here come to see.
Really, based on this thread the people who aren’t buying it are the ones talking the most. I’d love to buy some, but don’t have the funds right now. When I do I’ll be sure to share my two cents. You’ve certainly put me in my place. *eyeroll.gif*

We all appreciate Will and the JBP for growing his business and his contributions to the field of sport jetboating. I know there is a lot of hype but those jumping on the TVW wagon better be ready for a kick up the backside.
I'll chime in here with a thought. I've ordered the TVWs back in March. I asked them to ship them whenever they were done with them, I'm in no hurry. I see two things in all these threads that bother me.
1. EVERYONE was rushing to get these. INCESSANT questions about where's my order, when will it ship, etc etc. Then, the same people are upset because they shipped too quickly, and thought there should've been more testing. ?????
2. Honestly, I don't understand all the ruckus. Product reviews are one thing, but I must do things very differently than most of you. For instance, I bought the TVWs. They have a guarantee. I'll put them on, and if I don't like them, I'll send them back, or add it to the list of parts I've modified myself to improve my specific situation. The equipment I buy and the things I use are my decision. Not everything is awesome, some things are. It's just not worth my time to get into something like this. Use the TVWs, use the WakeWedge, buy the cobra fins, whatever. Maybe there's a silent majority... Or am I alone in this?
We're testing again today with a modified version of the deflectors. The issue has been narrowed down to the inboard deflector and the fact that it is situated too near the exiting jet wash. I think a small tweak will fix it but the proof will come tomorrow or Wednesday when prototypes can be laser cut, bent and overnighted to us. We're also going to try to come up with a way to measure steering weight with stock setup, with Thrust Vector Wake as it is today and with the modified parts. At least this will give us some percentages to advertise so that there are no surprises next time we go live with shipments.
I appreciate all the debate and feedback on this, though some has been pretty tough. We're working to solve this as quickly and as effectively as we can. I believe we'll get there.
For those that bought the Thrust Vector Wake during the pre-sale, thank you for your trust. We'll make it right.

Thanks for the reply and glad to hear you might have a solution. I am still hopeful for this product because I feel it can give me the 3 things I am looking for (better steering at low speed, reduced jet spray, and cleaner wake for future surfing) all in one product.

JBP, did you figure out how to measure the steering? If not I’ve had to do measure how much force it take to turn a wheel. I’ve use two luggage hand weight scales. You’ll need to attach a string at 3 and 9 o’clock. You need to test with your hand at 12 o’clock then at 6 o’clock. Do this multiple times and figure the average. I had to do this in a pharmacy distribution center.

I’m taking my 2019 AR195 out on Merwin tomorrow with the TVW. I’m interested to see how it fares compared to others as I haven’t seen a review of the 2019 other than Will’s. I’m hopeful it’s ok, but the wife will be the ultimate authority on if we rip it off or not.
Guys I’m starting out with this good or bad is all feed back and yes I wish it was a out of box grand slam but it’s not yet, I have a 2018 AR195 and wanted to try this with knowing it was not going to be night and day. Will definitely hit home run with the vector series and the lateral thrusters have know negative that I can see but there is definitely to much fight on the steering. I’ve described this as a car with and without power steering.
Myself I’m going to see what Will has for a fix for this before I remove and send back for the original vectors. But definitely want to hear from the single engine guys on what they are feeling,of this product and I guess I’ll give it the three strike rule and hopefully don’t have anything break in this process that’s the best I can think at this point

All this time effort and energy for surfing and I've fallen in the trap also. Love Yamaha, but part of me wishes I'd just bought a surf boat and be done with it. I guess I'm too cheap...

Yeah, I guess I can see how you can call it a trap. But I’ve come to seeing it a different way.
We came very close to going full time wake boat in recent years. Every time we came so close, we backed off as we reminded ourselves how much we can actually do with Yamaha that we would not be comfortable doing with the bigger wake boat...
Basically, the way I see it, 24’ Yamaha JB is about the largest boat Im willing to comfortably trailer across the country - on a moment’s notice, without much prep, and minimal planning. And we do trailer, a lot, seeing different places all the time.
Surfing is just one more thing I can do with this boat, and if you seen my wave, all with a 10 minute set up, it’s totally worth it.
We have friends with big wake boats who are now looking at Yamahas, no joke. Because they see what we can do - traveling coast to coast and still doing surfing - about as much as they do. And we’re not stuck in one place.

Yes, in my case it would be LOTO (lake of the ozarks, MO) or Bull Shoals, AR. Their boats are trailerable but end up living there on a lift for convenience.
The other guy who used to come with us to BSL all the time stopped coming and I’m fairly certain it has a lot to do with him recently upgrading to a newer much larger MC.
I love BSL but getting were we like to go involves trucking up and down over hairpin-laden country road barely wide enough to pass for the last 50 miles. So, what you tow makes a big difference.
But the reward is - even July 4th weekend you can find a whole cove for yourself. It’s just amazing down there.
