Unique table top

So I bought my Scarab 215 used, and the original owner lost the table top. I thought it would be cool to make one with an old wine barrel head. I sanded it down and put a coat of clear epoxy on it. The base is a plastic mount Amazon purchase that was around $8.00. There are some bubbles, but I think it came out nice.
Probably the only one out there like this.

Nice job. Love it. Which epoxy did you use? I recently finished the cockpit teak in our beneteau with 3 coats of West Systems 105/207. Because epoxy has no U/V protection, I applied 3 coats of Epifanes 2-part polyurethane to protect it from U/V damage, turning yellow. Your table is beautiful.

Thanks! I used Famowood Glaze Coat. It’s the same stuff they use on some restaurant tables; very clear and durable. One thin coat, then a thick poured-on coat. I expect it will yellow with UV exposure, but most of the time it will be tucked away under a seat.

This is the table base I used. It is strong, and fits snugly on the 2” tube. The aluminum stand came with the boat.
