Vibrating/Shaking throttle lever

New to me 2018 AR210 with keel, cobra fangs, and OEM. I have an issue where the port throttle is shaking/vibrating/bucking periodically.

Some notes:
- This has happened at slower speeds (10 mph) and it happens at higher speeds
- the throttle doesn't shake out of the water when I rev the engine. I know it is not under load but just a note
- It doesn't happen all of the time
- This is only on the port side

I don't think this is a bucket hanging down issue since if that was the case, it would happen all of the time
I am suspicious of the aftermarket fins and it may be more of the install versus the product.
it could be the keel but the keel is connected by rods to both port and starboard while the issue only happens on the port

Any ideas to further troubleshoot? When I searched the forum, I did find that newer model AR210 had issues with the impeller cone not being tightened and it ended up in the engine being trashed..... hope not

It's the bucket. I've never heard of this issue being anything other than the bucket adjustment. It doesn't happen "out of the water" because you don't have any thrust running through the pump to shake the bucket. Raise your bucket just a bit and I bet the issue goes away.

I am leaning towards a bucket issue especially since I had this in my other boat when I replaced the shifter cable.... I'll check this out since it makes perfect sense

I adjusted the bucket and the problem is fixed. I had the same problem when I changed out the throttle cable on my LS2000 and needed the reminder. Thank you @Scottie - i just didn't think of this on a boat with 17 hours

It’s caused by the bucket hanging too low. The flow of water catches the bucket and vibrates the hell out of the cable which transfers through to the throttle controls.

While on the trailer, with the engines off, put the throttles in the forward position. Then look at both reverse buckets and hopefully you’ll see a difference with the culprit hanging a bit lower into the flow of what would be the flow of water coming out of the pump. It’s tuned out by simply uncoupling the bucket from the cable (I believe that this is a wrench less procedure by pulling back on the coupler and disconnecting it from the ball joint). Then loosening the stopper nut on the cable and shortening the coupler by as little as a turn or two, then re securing the stopper nut.

Thanks! Yeah, one was lower by a quarter inch past the “lip” of the nozzle . Interestingly, I arrived there following the procedure in the manual. The procedure calls for 32mm gap for the nozzle in neutral. After moving the bucket up so it will be past the lip in Forward, the opening in Neutral is way wider than what the manual calls for. Wouldn’t that result in too much forward motion on water?
