Wake Booster

Nice video with good looking wave. Another question about your setup, do you use any after market stabilizer fins and if so which brand and do they appear to affect the WakeBooster?

Thanks for your info for a good working setup.

Finally got the call from the dealership and paid for my wake booster. Can’t wait to try it out this weekend! He said the board only comes in 1 size. Thought I read somewhere they have 2 sizes?

The Coaster does come in 2 sizes, 5'0" and 5'3". However the booster package only includes the 5'3".

ok cool, thanks for the info. He did mention I was getting the 5'3" so everything checks out. excited for the weekend.

Just picked my wakesurf booster and board from yamaha.

Does it come with fins? (Didn’t see any). While we wakeboard a lot- first time wakesurfing. Saw the board but wasn’t sure if we need fins to wakesurf

Fins are in the box in a baggie. Mine were taped to the board, I think.

It should come with 3 small fins.

Thx. Will look when i get home from shaver lake. My teenage boy - 145lbs was able to do really well with the wakebooster with only one 750lb fat sac in the center. Will get two smaller bags for starboard rear seat. Only needed rope occasionally and was his first time ever wakesurfing ! I am sure the fins will help a bit next time. Great job Yamaha !

Accidentally threw away the instructions. Can someone upload the photo for the scupper cover placement? Thanks!

So how long is the delay these days? Just bought a boat and the surf package. The guys behind the counter said I could only buy under 1 condition, that I don’t call every other day to see if it’s in.

Seems to depend on the dealer. Maybe the dealer relationship level they have with Yamaha or their tenacity in trying to get them but whatever the reason it seems that some dealers get them sooner and more often from what we have seen reported here. I think some dealers are indicating another round of deliveries in July some time.

Anyone have an update on the availability of the WakeBooster?

I ordered one from my [somewhat] local dealer in May and was charged for the product and put on the waiting list. Then last night I got a call from them that said Yamaha is no longer selling this thing and they would have to refund my purchase price. This seems wonky to me as the product is still on the Yamaha Website as of this morning: Yamaha Surf Package

Anyone hear anything different?

Mission Motorsports in Irvine has 2 or 3 in stock for the 24' boats (just picked mine up last week) - I would grab one. I was on hold fro the dealer in San Diego for like 4 months and think they were giving them out to their buddies first - not really sure as they kept moving the date. I only have a regular 242, but with one fatsac - it worked really well. with a 242x like you have - it will work like a dream.

I see you're near to me. Are you dealing with West Coast Boat Center in Tahoe or Rocklin? Talk to Kevin in Rocklin, he provides excellent service.

Thanks for the note. I thought it was strange that they are no longer available, but are still listed on the Yamaha web page. 1 + 1 = 3 anyone? I'll call them when they open at 10.

I was dealing with Tracy Motorsports. If they don't have it, I'll call Rocklin or Irvine and see if they can ship it to me.

never had good conversations with Tracy Motorsports. Always had different answers every time I called which I'm glad I did business with West Coast Boat Center.

Update to the story. Original dealer in Tracy said that the WakeBooster was no longer available and needed to credit back the price. Called the Dealer in Rocklin and they said that they only ordered 5 of them for this year and those were gone and that Yamaha won't even allow them to order more until August or September. He made it sound like they get to order for the year kind of like what they do for boats, and when those are gone, they are gone.

So, the morale of the story: if you want a Wake Booster, call around and find a dealer who has one in stock. Otherwise, it'll be next year.
