My rubber pads on my AR240 are starting to crack/break off and look dry rotted, wondering if I should change them during this winter. I searched for topics, but couldn't locate any threads concerning this.

Anyone ever replaced the pads? How difficult is this job to loosen the tower and replace the front 2 ? Any after market pads available?

Thanks

I had the same issue on my AR240. I had them replaced by a dealer twice and finally shaped out that tower due to all the various issues it had.

I have read people trying more heavy duty gasket material but I don't think there is preventing them from wiggling out over time.

Thanks for replying, what do you mean "finally shaped out that tower" ?

I remember seeing a thread on replacing these last year but can't locate it.

Sorry that was a typo. I swapped out the tower for a new aftermarket tower. After taking the old tower off myself I don't think it would be very difficult to take the nut off and lift the tower slightly to replace the gasket and torque down.
