What are your 2017 Travel Plans???

adding in work....orlando in august and los angeles in september....no fun!

I have a few trips this year,
Just got back from 9 days surfing in Samoa with the family, in March the wife and I will be in Queenstown New Zealand for a week conference.
For Easter we are flying to Bali for a few nights then heading to Lombok for a week surfing with the family.
August we are away again for another conference but not sure where yet, most likely Bali again as the time zone works well for my work but we might go somewhere else in Asia for a change.
Our last major trip is another 10 days surfing this time in the Maldives with a big group a friends
With the new boat due here in about a month and a half I am sure we will do a few weekends away on the islands just north of the gold coast or even Frasier island which is about 4 hours north of us.
Good thing our winters here are so warm so we can use the boat year round

No boat trips planned this year

Did Hawaii in Jan
Arkansas Derby, Hot Springs, AR in Apr
Big Bend in May
Switzerland Jul-Aug

Would love to do a Lake Powell trip sometime!

Dan, you need to put Labor Day 2019 on your calendar for the Corvette Caravan to Bowling Green and the 25th anniversary of the National Corvette Museum! Planning and organization starts later this year.

I will have to put it on the Calendar, was telling my Father In Law about your post today at lunch, we may do this. Where does the caravan start? He is in California and we are in Arizona.

They start in various parts of the country. The caravan Web page is a good reference.

Bimini in April
Lake of Ozarks lake race in June
Shelbyville in July
Michigan city lake race Aug.
key west final race in Nov
My son wants to fit KY lake to cliff jump. Damn YouTube

In 8 weeks Leeward Islands via catamaran ... best part is a crew is doing the heavy lifting, so I can play the role of lazy inebriated passenger. IMG_1570.JPG

We just got back from our 2 week trip in Hawaii, next month we go on our 7 Night Cruise to Mexico.

Next 3 months???? DesMoines, to see the Barnstormers; Cedar Rapids to see the Titans; Fort Collins, to see the Colorado Crush; Spokane, to see the Shock; Wichita Falls, to see the Nighthawks; Nebraska, to see the Danger; Green Bay, to see the Blizzard; Sioux Falls, to see the Storm; Salt Lake City, to see the Screaming Eagles; and Arizona, to see the Rattlers......and check up on how my IFL officiating crews are doing.....sure beats being a street cop for 30 years! (With a trip or two to Daytona to see my kid's school next year, Embry Riddle Aeronautical University....). So much for using the boat!

Wow, that's a lot of traveling, let me know when you will be in Arizona!!!

I'm hoping to go to Florida (From California) to crew on my good friend's 39' sailing catamaran for a trip to Bermuda.

We may make a trip to San Diego to visit the Zoo, and fine museums there.

Boating is all local as we have two fine lakes inside a 15 mile radius from our house.

Denver in June (Bachelor party)
Lake Cumberland in July (might as well be a Bachelor party)
Norris Lake in August (we rent a huge, brand new 9 bedroom/9 bathroom house! This will be the second year)
Vegas TBD (Bachelor party - still in the planning stages)
Perhaps a trip or two to Indian Lake (OH)
Various trips to Caesar Creek (OH) and Brookville Lake (IN) all summer long!

My wife wants to go on a camping trip. Of course I want another lake! She's not nearly as into the boat as I am, but she also works most weekends so she can't come out for every trip. She's willing to compromise and go to a lake where we can beach the boat and set up a tent in the woods or something. Just gotta find said lake!

Napa Valley - July ( No Kids! )
Barbados - August
Lake Travis - Just about every weekend

Nice thread!

We like to stay home on the lake as much as possible in the summer and have everyone come to us, of course. :) But, starting in two weeks, we have:
-spring break in Myrtle (first time going there)
-a quick trip to Indiana University - Bloomington in May for our son's college graduation.
- Asheville, NC in June for some senior pics for our daughter at the Biltmore and to explore the area more
-then the biggie in late July - same daughter sings in a pre-professional children's choir that's performing at Canterbury Cathedral in Canterbury and Southwark Cathedral in London, so a week there then off to Paris for three days.
-Probably another cross-country road trip in August, as our son is most likely moving to L.A. to work in film.

We'll see what else the year brings...I'd love to do a trip down the Intracoastal, maybe Myrtle to Charleston or something, if we can squeeze it in.

It's Winter, most of us are not boating, so besides 2017 boating adventures, where are you all vacationing or doing fun things this year?

We have a busy schedule this year:

Road Trip to Laughlin, NV this weekend in the Corvette's with my In-Laws.
Two Week Vacation in Hawaii at the end of February.
7 Night Family Cruise to Mexico at the end of April.
2 Day Ron Fellows Corvette Performance Driving School in May.
Taking our Travel Trailer to Lake Havasu to leave for the Summer, May through October.
Annual Lake Powell Trip in August for our Anniversary

That's on our calendar so far this year, it's going to be a blast :)

Well we have completed most of our travel this year, what a great year to say the least!!! Just finished the Corvette Racing School this weekend, now we are getting into lake mode here soon. Here is a short video of one of the racing school sessions, this was a total bucket list item checked off!!!
