What do you tow your 190 with?

Anyone tow their AR/SX190 and brake-less trailer with a 2012-2015 Honda Pilot 4wd? Looking at picking one up in a couple months and want to know if I need to add brakes to my trailer before then.

The Pilot is rated to tow 4500 lbs, just wondered how it would do stopping our stock 2800-3000lb boat/trailer.

get hawk HPS pads all around and call it a day. stops real well, works with stock rotors (in my experience that is)

You should have no problem. Our Honda Odyssey had plenty of stopping power (I believe they have similar brakes, or at least that's what the service guy told me) however I'm not sure if it was a fluke but the rotors warped.

Honda Pilots (like all Hondas) have

I love my Hondas (and Acuras), but their rotors are cheap. Need to replace the front rotors on my MDX right now.

I'm thinking I'm gonna add hydrauluc surge brakes. Just a pain to have to swap out the folding swing arm coupler on the trailer for a new one with hydraulic actuator. Likely be $500-$600 in parts when all said and done.

What trailer did you get? Mine came with the surge breaks. My trailer is a 2015 Shorelander.

We have a 2015 SX190 galvanized Shorelander trailer. No brakes on ours.

Ok, well plans changed and we ended up getting a '16 Sorento EX V6 AWD. It's rated to tow up to up to 5000lb so should be fine for short trips. I got my HD for the long ones.

Yeah the 192's trailers have the brakes, the 190's do not. According to the specs.

Anyone know the surge brake specs/sizes/part numbers for their Shoreland'r trailer (those of you wifh 192's)? More specifically the folding coupler end with surge actuator (part that folds in for storage). I was looking at etrailer.com for parts and would prefer to use what Shoreland'r considers OEM parts if possible.

I traded in my 2012 Equinox V6 and bought a 2016 Highlander XLE... its able to tow 5000 lbs vs the Equinox's 3500 lbs. Boat is in the garage for the off-season, but I'm looking forward to seeing how it pulls behind the new Toyota.

Thats right! I loooove that place!

We added stainless steel brake lines, better pads and slotted rotors to the Edge to help with braking. We've never had a problem with braking in the Edge even w the boat, but now it's got serious binding power. And then once that was all done, I bought a Ram 1500! o_O

2015 Toyota 4Rr with 3" toytec lift, airbags and BFG tires... 2105 AR192... tows fine! cant see a damn thing behind me though! I purchased the boat late fall so I have not launched it yet,my biggest concern is how well the 4Rr does with that?IMG_4780.JPG

Last season it was the bright silver JKU on 35's with 3.75" lift ( body & spring). I was in an accident in December that totaled the jeep. :(
The replacement jeep (granite) has the stock suspension for now and squats a bit to much for my taste. Installing the lift soon with air ride bags to level everything out.

looks like on later models of the 190's they moved the axle up further... look at the distance from axle to the red reflector...

thats what I wanted but it doesn't matter now that I have a truck
