Honda Pilots (like all Hondas) have

I love my Hondas (and Acuras), but their rotors are cheap. Need to replace the front rotors on my MDX right now.

I finally got around to replacing rotors and pads over the weekend. Ended up with this package ( http://www.powerstop.com/product/power-stop-z16-kit/#y=2008&mk=ACURA&mo=MDX ). Obvously it feels great now, but I'll report back once I get a chance to pull at bit.

Lake Thurmond

???? Where's that lake at? Never heard of it??? I know where Clarks Hill is at though, right outside of Augusta. Used to live right down the road off Furys Ferry Rd.

Obviously kidding but had to bring up the whole lake name issue. I thought everyone on the Georgia side called it Clarks Hill still

We've only known it as Lake Thurmond. Actually Started hearing people say Clarks Hill late in the year...

there's actually some history there that pissed off all of Georgia when they renamed the lake. I had to laugh when I saw it called Thurmond lake though and had to post. I have nothing but very good memories from that lake and it's where all of my girls started their boating career.

Grats on the JKU! It's not bad pulling but that all depends on what mods you have. 3.21 gears was sluggish last year, but it definitely was doable. You should have 4.10's right?
The biggest upgrade you can do for towing is a big brake kit. That's the only difference between the US and EU version of the JKU. EU has the jeep rated at 4400 lbs, whereas the US is obliviously 3500lbs.

We've also just installed the Air Lift 1000 coil helpers to aid in the sagging but haven't tested it yet.

My jeep is a auto thus it came with the 3.7 gearing, I didn't think the 4.11's were needed.

20 plus years ago I used air bags like that in the back of my Saab for when I hauled heavy stuff, they worked great!

Brakes is a area I was planning to upgrade, they are not exactly confidence inspiring I have been wondering why the other parts of the world the jku's have a higher towing rating. Great to know... my last car I uses AP Racing brakes, I know the jeep can equal that but undo want better then it is. It's just if I should do the oem setup which i believe just uses truck components or willwood or similar brake kit.

My wife's JKU has 3:73s and tows awesome. The 6 speed auto is where its at. Depending on the spring's spring rate you have, it shouldnt squat that much. The tongue weight isnt really that much. The boat weighs 3000ish pounds but I wonder what the tongue weight is, fully weighted. My lowered Tahoe doesnt squat much either. This Jeep was totaled in an accident last December.
Teraflex 2.5" lift with 1.25" body lift. Doesnt sag that much.

Stock lift, sags a lot.

Don't have a pic yet with the 3"lift / coil helpers but it's damn near level at 30 psi.

Picked her up this weekend! Drove to my parents house in Spartanburg SC on Friday afternoon. Got up at 0500, headed over to Charlotte and made it back to surprise my Dad by 0900! They can't wait to meet up with their 5th wheel camper and spend the weekends on the water. Going to have to get helper spring for the Burb though. I installed a 2 in level and with the boat it squats.

All these vehicles squatting are surprising. I have a 13 Jeep JKU and a 06 Lowered Tahoe. Neither squat enough for me to want to do anything to them.

One of the most important points with towing is to have your trailer as level as possible. With that in mind, I can't recommend this thing (the convert-a-ball) enough! We used it with our Edge, and now with the Ram. Not only does the polyurethane bushing cushion front to back shock, it also cushions the vertical load of the tongue weight. It makes towing so quiet, and so smooth.
