What do you use to tow your boat?

08 Dodge 2500 with a few tweaks. 200K. I'm starting to look for a new truck. F150 Eco? New Dodge 1500 diesel?

2002 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab, 4.7 liter V8. I only have to drive half a mile from storage lot to marina, and if I bring her home its only about 7 miles. I probably need something bigger to take her a road trip.

2013 GMC Sierra Z71/All Terrain. Love it

2006 Dodge Ram 2500 (5.9 ofcourse)

2002 Avalanche 2500, 85k miles. Works GREAT, but the damn 8.1L V-8 is thirsty. I rarely get 10mpg out of it, even with no tow load.

I am kind of looking for something else because this is such overkill and I hate driving it anywhere because of the fuel consumption, but I'm not sure what. I want better gas mileage, and want to buy used... I don't buy new stuff, it's the closest you can get to throwing money away due to the ridiculous depreciation!

Everyone here seems to have such a nice vehicle. I have been driving my 2006 Grand Cherokee since I bought it used back in 2006. I hate car payments, the Cherokee only has 140,000 on her, and I only drive 4 miles each way to work. We manage to get the wife and I, two kids, the Golden Retriever, and all of the camping gear in every weekend for our two hour trip up north so until the boys get too big to ride in the back or the wheels fall off I am going to keep her. Plus it matches the boat.

I believe this is a first in this thread - 2012 Nissan Armada SL, pulls the AR240 with ease. :)

I'm with you.

I've only bought one new truck in my life, another Avalanche in 2002. I did buy a new car at some point around 1993. My original Avalanche was totaled in an accident, and I bought a 2006 Tundra in 2008 to replace it because of people raving about the Toyotas.

After driving it for a while, it just didn't do it for me; for $25k back then it had manual seats, the ergonomics of the dash were terrible, and I just wasn't impressed for the cost/benefits especially when the Av's were loaded for much cheaper. I kept it for 2 years, then traded it in on my current '02 2500 Avalanche after I noticed some rust bubbles showing up in places where no truck should start to rust!

I gave them my Tundra, they gave me the Av and a $5500 check. That was free money to me, because that $5500 would have evaporated into the air above my driveway through depreciation anyways. No real problems with the Av to this point, except the fuel economy.

I'd much rather avoid car payments and have a reliable older truck so I can use that money on other things. :)

When my Cherokee finally does kick the bucket I will replace it with a used Avalanche. I love the whole idea of it.

2014 Dodge Ram SLT w/ Big Horn Package and 5.7L Hemi

Had it for roughly 2 weeks and by far the best purchase I have made to date. Could not be happier.

The up and down button on my lift. When we travel we use the Ford F250 6.0 diesel with 217,00 miles on it. Can't even tell its back there.
