What lies beneath this floor compartment?

I'm still learning the in's and out's of the Yamaha 242 and am curious what lies beneath this main floor compartment. It appears to be secured with hex screws, so probably not something that needs to be accessed all that often. I'll probably open it up to take a look, but figured I'd post here in case anyone might know.

Hex bolts in the floor compartment? Wow I would never have guessed that. Is this standard for the 2016's?
