Which new boats? The 212's still have the 1.8's. The SX and AR210 and FSH210 have had the 3 cylinder TR-1's and still do. Nothing has changed.

Best is determined by the invidual and their usage/needs. I have an AR210 and it works for us. The price was in our budget and it does what we want. If we ever get around to upgrading it would be a 25' footer, either an FSH or an AR250. Depending on what crazy prices they cost at the time and if it is within budget.

Total agree. I went with the 212x because it has the bigger engines and the price was reasonable ie pre-Covid

Price was a big factor in my decision to purchase. I got our 2020 AR210 at about 1 month into the lockdown in april of 2020. Paid $42,000 OTD. Pre-Covid Which was about $6,000 under MSRP. For a 212s I could of bought it for $53,000 OTD. Just didn't know if the family would like boating and much about jet boats or that the market would be what it is now and low inventory. Part of me thinks I should of gotten the 212s, but now it makes a stronger case for a 25' footer on the upgrade. Going into the third season I haven't found one thing that we wanted to do that I couldn't. In the end, I won't lose any money when I sell if this market keeps up and someone will get a good price on a fully modded AR210.

If you like to haul ass the 3 cylinder tr-1 motor isnt for you. It is however, fairly fuel efficient, still has decent torque when loaded down and gets up to around 35mph with around 1800lbs aboard. It works well for our family and cruises efficiently.
