I did upgrade our old 35 gal. to a 60 gal. a few weeks ago. It went in nicely without a lot of repiping. Its not electric, but has a closed loop heat exchanger fed from either our indoor gas boiler or outdoor wood boiler. It solved the problem of running out of hot water when filling the BIG tub. Wife is very happy with that result. Always use mixing valves to adjust desired water temp. The 60 gal. heater has one on the outlet and the boiler has one to reduce 180 deg. water down to 120 deg as it enters the two zones of PEX tubing encased in our 2000+ sq. ft. radiant slab.
