I am thinking about pulling out the ladder in the anchor locker. I just do see the need for it. I already put in a pop up cleat in front of the ladder, but now I am thinking about putting in some line chocks to channel the anchor rode properly out the side gaps. Then maybe repurpose that blank space where the ladder is for something else.

Just curious on how many people actually use the ladder. Talk me in or out of removing it!

No adult has ever used mine, but my kids use it every outing while swimming to get to the bow to jump off again. I appreciate that they don’t track water through the boat 10,000 times by using this method!

Even though im new to this genre of boating I honestly don't see myself using it either. Mine already has the pop-up cleat built in. But take a look at what @Sotally Tober did with his on his build post.

I was too fixated on the stripper pole, 100,000 watts of stereo equipment, and enough lights to make Las Vegas jealous to see what he did with the anchor locker. Pretty close to what I am thinking, I like the custom seadek to tidy it up

Ha! Yeah, I definitely removed the anchor and all associated equipment. Currently store 4 Mission Sentry Fenders, 4 Ronix Dock Bungie Lines and two long lines with a danik hook for my shore spikes in there.

I don’t use mine often, but I do once in a while. Mainly for disembarking on uneven ground.

I’ll use ours sometimes when swimming if we’re backed into a beach & the back of the boat is crowded.

every single outing. we love jumping from the bow and use it to get back up

Never use the front ladder off the bow. Never. Back ladder? yes.

I cut a 1/2" piece of stainless steel rod and hang my box anchor in there. Also have a fold out mount for the M243 just in case mofo's start trippn'. :D

Do you have a picture of your setup? I'm interested in doing something similar.

Pulling the boat our of storage on Thursday so I will soon - DM me so I remember. If you can picture it in your head, the rod hangs where a standard anchor hangs. With the box anchor, collapse it and hang it by the rod from any of the corners, insert it into the locker.

We don't use it much, but it is great when you are bow in to the shore on a steep drop off where the transom ladder is in deep water. In cold water or unfavorable conditions it is preferable to be ankle deep rather than have to swim. Otherwise everyone looks like a ferret trying to climb over the bow.

I use the anchor ladder quite often when I work on the boat while it is stored on the side of my house and my guests and I use it every other time we are on the water. It helps to add grab bars to the hatch. I don’t actually store my anchor in the locker, just 4 fenders and 3 dock lines which I use often. The ladder does make it more difficult to access the items but not unbearable.

We don’t use it, and I’ve been toying with a crazy idea of removing it and adding an anchor winch or windlass and anchor roller, haven’t quite got worked the plans out yet.

Wish we had one. Would use it frequently.

I believe he put a hot tub in there....

We use it when we use launches that don't have docks. The boat driver orbits while the truck and trailer get put away. Then the boat driver approaches the shore bow first, truck driver climbs up the ladder as boat driver backs away from shore.

Actually removed my anchor locker ladder this winter and installed an additional pop up cleat.

Kids are grown and gone, had boat for 5 years , never used it once. Not sure what took me so long.
