Ordered some Vevo 65” trailer poles on Amazon and 48” Yamaha branded pole covers from trailerguidepoles.com. Painted the poles and hardware to match the trailer and installed them last weekend.

Loved the VeVe guides with the vertical roller. They are built tough. Thinking about replacing the non VeVe guides on the Venture trailer for the whaler. The existing guides are just not as strong and can dislodge from the bracket.

I mounted mine underneath instead of on top of the beam like that. For some reason, I'm worried if a wind pushes you or something as you're powering into your trailer in the water it could scratch or worse, gouge your hull.

I was a bit worried about this as well but after looking at the ends of the poles and there position relative to the bunks I felt like they would be OK. This is a really good point though - I may reconsider.......

During last night's God-awful thunderstorm (at the airport they clocked gusts of 97 mph--strongest ever on record, including during hurricanes...), I replaced my fishfinder with an upgraded Garmin fishfinder/chartplotter. ECHOMAP 93sv. Look, ma! Real charts! I just used the old transducer (plugged right in), so all I had to do was swap the power cable. Even the mount fit right where I had the old one...

Changing the oil on both engines at 30 hours. First oil change since the 10 hour service was done at 12.5 hours. They might of overfilled it a bit at the dealer. Got a little more than 4L out and haven’t removed the filter yet. I’m using a MightyVac extractor that I had previously. IMG_3849.jpeg

According to the owners manual, the engines actually hold 5.3L of oil. So maybe not overfilled.

Replaced original anchor line. I had pulled up anchor and it took addition effort to bring it up. Must have been caught on debris. The end of the line was frayed by the thimble to the point that the thimble was loosely attached.

Bent the ladder this weekend. Replaced it with a spare (from a donor boat, different story) this morning.

Hey quick question! My Ladder started having issues and will not close properly unless I forcefully push it in. I think my big boned brother might be the culprit. I wonder if its also bent and needs replacing. Also can I remove the bow ladder (never used) and replace the stern ladder or are they different? 2021 252x

Certainly possible. If the ladder gets pushed forward while deployed, the bottom part of the slot in which it rides to go under the boat when stowing bends... I can see that happening with too much weight, too.

Take a look underneath and you should bee able to see if that is the issue.

I will take another look at both ladders again soon. I think the ladders themselves are the same but the rials they fit into are different front to rear ladder. Actually, the front ladder just folds and extends it doesn’t not slide into a frame like the rear ladder does.

Bought a couple of Swift Knot’s to make tying up to pilings faster. I’m pretty good with a cleat hitch but these should make dealing with pilings much easier.

My group 34 Odyssey house battery (68Ah) isn’t holding a charge and I managed to find an Odyssey group 31 battery (108Ah) on Craigslist for $200 (about $550 new) from a local guy that’s upgrading to Lithium. It’s a couple of years old but he’s kept it properly maintained so I figured it was worth a small gamble. I was stunned on how much bigger/heavier it is than the group 34.

Marked my anchor lines every 10’ with a piece of mason line braided in and then a stripe of red spray paint. No more guessing when I’ve got 50’ out. Also since the danforth that fits nicely in the locker is a bit small for a 21’ boat I added another 10’ of chain.DC7BC2AF-D9A2-40E7-911A-F3417DB9204D.jpegHad a little help from Tony to stop the overspray.

Installed the Navilight navigation lights on the dinghy as we prep the boat for the 4th.
