Yes ok i need to check what to do about vents and cleat surrounds which may take a while and also the shipping. That grey looks to be the one for me. I'll try and get pics of the boat covered tomorrow and send them to you @Geoff Cooper .
I have much homework to do on this project and sorting the shipping out is just one job.My guess is that Thai Post will take 6 to 8 weeks to deliver to US but will be the best price. DHL, UPS and Fedex could deliver in a few days but I believe will cost as much as the cover.
Yes maybe your right it's something i will look into, My intention is to ask the people who made my cover for a piece of the Canvass and as i probably have to go to Bangkok next week i will take it with me and see if i can have the club Logo stitched onto it and i will send it to you so you can give your opinion, I have a job that has come up to check and where necessary replace or repair all the emergency lighting systems in a Condominium building, The management are British with a lot of foreign owners and it's run really well and as so they didn't want local workmen doing the job so i thought i could kill 3 birds with one stone if you get my meaning, 1 sort the logo out, 2 take some Photos to continue my post and 3 sort out the emergency lighting job.My guess is that Thai Post will take 6 to 8 weeks to deliver to US but will be the best price. DHL, UPS and Fedex could deliver in a few days but I believe will cost as much as the cover.
I'm looking into that ken I'll get onto it next week, Just got back in from the Islands had a great day out and great company, I haven't had the Boat out for nearly 2 weeks and now conditions are back to normal again after that storm so i was itching to get out there, You can see what the Sea was like today.Have you ran across a shop that has embroidery machines? With the JB's logo, it would be awesome to have it sewn in. That would ruin the waterproofing though....not sure how that would work.
Surely you aren't boating alone....come on now...Don't hold back on your companions pictures.I'm looking into that ken I'll get onto it next week, Just got back in from the Islands had a great day out and great company, I haven't had the Boat out for nearly 2 weeks and now conditions are back to normal again after that storm so i was itching to get out there, You can see what the Sea was like today.

Ah well maybe there is a market it's just a case of doing more homework and trying to get the price right, See what you think when you get the sample i sent to you then if you think the quality is good we can move on from there, The quality is far greater than my old Yamaha cover and that was the original.@Geoff Cooper, a member posted in our Facebook group that Yamaha is no longer manufacturing covers for 2006 and older 230s.
Sorry I meant I hope you don't get bothered by the rain.Sorry i don't understand your comment!
Oh ok i see.Sorry I meant I hope you don't get bothered by the rain.
I sent this as a sample so other people could be sent it for there opinions and after they have looked at it to return it to Bruce so it can be sent out again, I don't think it's a good idea to start burning it, It's just for use as a Boat cover and i think by just looking at it you can see that it's up for the job certainly far superior to the original Yamaha cover that i had before. It appears to be a very open weaved fabric that needs the backing to be air and water tight. You should do a burn test to see if it's cotton or nylon.
Scott, what would I expect to see when burning a small piece? You only need a few strands to determine its composition by burning it. I am not doubting it's superiority to the OEM cover.
Oh i see, I just wondered what this will prove and for what reason that's all, Many Boat covers are made from the same material here and i would go as far as to say they are subject to many different temperatures and conditions maybe more than in most countries, I would presume the manufacturers would have subjected it to many more tests than what is needed for the job it's being used for.You only need a few strands to determine its composition by burning it. I am not doubting it's superiority to the OEM cover.
