I want to go to Bimini 2017

If I could I would but that is not an option with my wife's schedule.

Are you taking an EPIRB, inReach or some other satellite messaging device? Even if the water is calm the Gulf Stream is still moving to the north at 4+ MPH. Any issues that causes you to lose propulsion will have you move incintrollably to the north and very quickly out of VHF range of the shipping channel.

Nice. Well hopefully we'll see you there. We're planing on Friday AM to Monday AM
Lets keep in touch. Hopefully if there is good weather i am thinking to leave fridayas well and come back on monday

We have an active InReach, and VHF. GPS and and one other Navionics enabled device with preloaded route and downloaded maps. I really wish we could leave with the group as I know safety with numbers. I appreciate the concern and advice whole heartedly as well. We will continue to watch the forecast with fingers crossed.

I did the same and had the same answer....where to look now

I called Bimini Sands this morning NO SLIPS AVAILABLE...

Did you ask about slips at the Bimini Beach Club. They are old and offsite but better than staying home.

Resorts World has two marinas with floating docks and overpriced slips. They might have availability. One is Bimini Bay, the other is Fishermans ......

Check with the Sea Crest or the Big Game Club. The downside to both are that neither dock is floating, they are fixed and high compared to our boats. The docks at Sea Crest are next to the fuel dock on North Bimini and very near were the water taxi between North and South will drop/pick you up.

Made a reservation at Big Game Club they have a lot of slips and about 7 rooms left for that weekend from the 3rd-5th if anyone was curious

@latitudeadjuster ... so, if you go to Bimini again, AND @swatski goes too, you'll have to find some new "material" since your boat is smaller now.
Actually my new material might have to be the speed of my boat I believe I would have him on top speed and getting there.... what you think @Glen

Just wait until my moratorium on mods expires and I get my MaptunerX.

In the unlikely scenario of smooth water for the crossing @latitudeadjuster's power to weight ratio could give him an advantage.

But the much more likely scenario is that @swatski's three additional feet of length will provide a more comfortable ride allowing his crew to finish first.

Alright then!!! I guess we have a race. Where is @chris24 ?
(f@ck the windshield. Family's staying home.)

Ok...so he MAY win 4% of the time...pick a good crossing day @Bruce then I got this....lol
