People actually live that long???
:D

So, today at dinner one of my daughters says her new clarinet teacher "is REALLY old" (as I asked if she was younger or older). My wife then clarified that she is 31, I almost fell off a chair.
Darn kids.

So I turn 40 in a week and no it is not the end of the world. Sure my metabolism has been falling off but I have started eating better/less, cut out the salty/sugary snacks and am drinking less alcoholic beverages. Feels like normal when you make it a habit. The greys are more obvious and male pattern baldness has started but I am determined to just let it all go naturally.

My goal is to complete a half and full Ironman this year so I am watching my diet even more closely and working out much more. It was time to get rid of the beer pouch I was starting anyway. Must say feels great to go to the gym and still have all the women look. There is also a retired guy there the same time I am that is in really great shape for late 60s and the women still look at him too. I also feel like I have more energy throughout the day after working out and don't even grab a cup of coffee most days now.

Getting old sucks but you can mitigate it. Regardless make the best of each day you have.

When I turned 30 I was sure I knew everything, until I reached 50 and realized I was not very smart at 30, but now I knew everything. Sorry, just turned 70 and realized that I was not that smart at 50?!! Just bought a 242 Limited S and can't wait to try my new wakeboard. Still get to the gym 4-5 days a week and can still do bench reps at 225. I figure this might be my last boat so I intend to have a really good time with it. (And yes, there will come a day where you will need a blue pill) Yesterday is gone, tomorrow might not come, so get the most out of today.

I'm still in my 20s. Unfortunately, this is the last year for that! I've been boating since I was a little pup. My dad had an old '78 Baretta 16.5 foot open bow ski boat. My parents taught me how to drive when I was young (boats, cars, golf carts, trucks, tow rigs, etc.). Once I turned 16 and started driving legally and on my own, I bought a Jeep Cherokee and dad let me take the Baretta out whenever I wanted. I'd gather a few friends and we would go out on the lake all day and ski and be mischievous any way we could. The Baretta was starting to fall apart, and I didn't want to mooch off dad forever, so I started buying my own toys. I've had motorcycles, Jeeps, cars, trucks, boats, jet skis, a little bit of everything. Dad somewhat donated the Baretta to me since he never really used it once I was old enough to take it out on my own, but the first watercraft of my very own was a 97 Yamaha Wave Runner GP760. I had to do a bunch of work to it to get it running. Once I did, I enjoyed it for a few months and then sold it for a nice profit. Next boat was a 95 SeaDoo Speedster. It was fast, fun, but falling apart. Next boat was a 95 Dynasty Elanti 17 foot open bow I/O 3.0 liter. I absolutely LOVED that boat. I recently sold it. Such a bittersweet day. The interior was completely redone. It was in really good shape. There was nothing wrong with the boat, but my friends convinced me it was time to upgrade to a boat we could attempt more watersports on. My wife and I wanted a boat with a bimini top. I was looking for an inboard wakeboard boat when I came across the AR210. I sent a few text messages, made a few phone calls, and did a lot of research all in the span of a day or two. Next thing I know, I drove over 3 hours away and picked up my Yamaha AR210.

That sure was a long-winded answer to "How old are you?"

27, my younger sister was just reminding me the other day how I am in my "late 20's" and how old I'm getting. (She's 22 and still thinks 30 is old.) Lol

70. I have to start taking Required Minimum Distributions this year. If you don't know what that means it's because you're too young.

Old guys rule! I can relate and agree with you 70+ guys! Wisdom comes from having...been there, done that. And there is lots of life after 30, 40, 50, 60, and apparently 70!

Hi txav8r, It's been a while. I've been boating as much as I can, just haven't been on these boards much.

I see you built a new garage!

I have decided to join the fold of jet boat owners and am now the proud owner or will be next week of a 2011 21ft Yamaha. Life begins at 72. Just remember "life is to short not to have fun" and keep smile on your face.

54 and hitting it 285+ off the tee. Can't wait for 55 to move to the seniors tee box. Oh this is the wrong forum. Anyway, feel good at 54 and thrilled with my first boat. I'm looking for many more boating years and golf.

"...age is just a surrogate for aging..." That's from a discussion with a colleague who's spent his carrier working on "telomere" maintenance (a part of human chromosome responsible for aging - for non genetically inclined), so he should know.
Lol, it made me think of this thread.
