So, this is what happens...

5 hours??!  :wideyed: I don't think I could handle that drive, everytime I wanted to go boating. I'm hoping there's a closer spot you can go - but prefer the 5 hour spot??

I'm in So Cal. I have a couple local lakes about 20-30 minutes away but they are small and crowded. I also have the San Diego Bay which is nice and about an hour away but our favorite place to boat is the Colorado River (Lake Mohave, Lake Havasu, Parker, Laughlin) and those spots are all about a 5 hour drive. No problem, we just take a lot of 3 day weekends.
