@Majorsmackdown @Alex&Elena as for food, other than @ACrews no one that I know has every been asked about the food they have on board their boat. I don't remember the exact details but I believe it was something said in line that drew the attention of the customs officer to inspect @ACrews boat. On the customs form don't go into great detail about what you have, just put something like "drinks and snacks", that has always worked for me. My bet is that customs is probably happy folks bring food instead of depleting what little there is to purchase on the island.

@Bruce Nervously awaiting your update .....
Current forecast for Miami Nearshore is 2.3' early building to 2.7' later in the day. On the positive side that is lower than some recent forecasts and the wind forecast is decreasing. It will be bumpy but I plan to cross as planned.

The forecast for Bimini is mostly one foot or less. I suggest that we have the potluck on East Wells on Tuesday and the run to Cat Cay on Friday. Wednesday would be my recommendations for an exploration of North Bimini however we do not have any bad way days forecast for while we are in Bimini so you may choose to be on the water every day.

I'd just take it. And some 1/2 n 1/2. Shhh. Don't tell anyone.

You could also do powdered milk. My kids hate it. I kinda like it.
Yep, bringing both.....and maybe some powdered milk or creamer too, I don't think my kids ever tried it, but I remember eating it with the spoon when i was a child, it tasted so delicious lol

@Alex&Elena, I beleive the delicious stuff you are looking for is "PET milk" which has a sweet flavor. You can use a pressure cooker to turn it into caramel.

In Europe UHT (ultra pasteurized) milk that does not need to be refrigerated is widely available. The taste is indestinguisable from regular pasteurized milk once refridgerated. Horizon Organic milk is UHT. It is available in many stores in the refrigerate sections in half gallons or in single serving sizes at Walmart. Some Dollar Tree locations have quarts of UHT for a dollar.

question to you ;

I left at midnight I've made it all and little over 500 miles I've stopped once for fuel the front axle on the trailer is cool to the touch however the back axle each hub is very hot to the touch. There has been no smoke coming off the trailer however I'm wondering if it's due to the weight that we have in the back of the trailer or if those bearings are about to go? I moved the cooler all the way up to the bow of the boat to see if maybe that will take a little weight off that back axle

Im pretty good at giving the trailer hubs a little grease throughout the summer.

Id like to push on, but now im wondering if i should maybe find a place to repack the bearings. Thoughts....?

The heat is more from your brakes partially grabbing. They may be slightly holding from not being used or they may need to be serviced at some point from the caliper slide bolts seizing.

Alex here,
If hub is warmer then the other that means bearing is tightened a bit more.
Very easy to loosen it.
How far you have left to go?

You have to have a free play on bearings so they don't overheat and fail

Most likely breaks - was it after a downhill run? Could also be if your trailer sits even slightly high up front - I noticed something like that few times before I dialed in the ball mount height.
Do you carry a grease gun, couldn't hurt to squirt some in if that is an issue. .
I wouldn't completely ignore it. Those should stay fairly cool, warm to the touch at most. Even after a long mad dash at 85mph.
