Thx Octavio. Did you replace the stock amp with the HT6s? Mine also came with the Polk 5000.5.
My 212x is a 2013 - it didn't come with any amps. I added everything.

I'm sure your Polk 5000.5 is fine - your system just needs to be tuned properly.

That was certainly my experience. I couldn't believe how bad the amp settings were.

Anyone have a wiring schematic for the 2017 X? I'm trying to figure out how a 5-channel amp is running 7 speakers? Bow x2, Stern x2, tower (2 channel), Sub.
I want to add a second sub, helm speakers, and possibly another set of towers, but I'm thinking maybe properly driving what I have and only adding helm and a second sub (with another 5000.5) could work.
Thanks!

Are you sure you only have 7? Mine has 2 bow, 2 beside the rear seats, 2 swim platform, plus the tower bar and sub. When I was tuning my amp, I figured out that the 2 bow and 2 rear seats where on the front two channels of the amp and the swim platform and tower bar speakers were on the 2 rear channels.

Don't have a wiring schematic (although that would be great to see), just figured this out by moving the fader and balance sliders in Connext.

You are correct - I missed the rear seat speakers. So each set of 4 speakers is splitting 70 watts RMS? Seems low.

Sorry, how do you get 70? I thought the HU was 200 watts and the amp was as well

I know enough to be dangerous so if I've got what you're saying is that even though the HU is 200 watts, since all the speakers are being driven by the amp, we're not getting any power from the HU?

I guess I need to see the wiring diagram. I thought all our speakers were being driven by the amp. I didn't even think about the head unit (Connext).
Anyone know?

Anybody have a wiring diagram for the stereo? Google has failed me and I have another 5000.5 on the way. Thanks!

Tower speakers and stern speakers are tied together. cabin speaker tied together and sub by itself. Hope this helps.

I suspect the Soundbar is wired similarly to how the 242x is, ( Soundbar is in series with the rear cabin 6.5's). To confirm unplug the Soundbar up at the Soundbar itself, and if a pair of 6.5's also go dead you will have confirmed... Hope this helps.

Could just take a AA battery and solder wire to each end - unhook speaker wires at amp and connect to your battery - the speakers that pop are what is connected.

Well wired in series it is. Guess I'll be pulling some new speaker wire.
So one last question - anybody know what model number the polk sub is? I suppose I could pull it and look at the back but I want to match it for the second sub.
Thanks!

I can't unfortunately because of the location (they're right up against the port bulkhead) but here's what I did. Note that I only have one amp, not two.

- checked to see if the fader made any difference and it didn't so I changed the st/4ch switch to 4 channel
- rechecked the fader and its now working. The bow and mid cabin speakers are set to front and the tower and swim platform are set to rear
- set the sub lpf to about 80 hz. That's what I read in the manual and seemed to line up with the dynamic range of the speakers based on the Polk website
- changed the rear hpf setting to about 80 hz. Hard to tell since the range is 40-4000
- changed the switch on the front speakers from full to hpf. Figured full was wrong and was hesitating between hpf and bpf
- set the hpf to about 80 hz. Didn't touch the lpf.
- turn the gain right down on all 3, and turned the volume on the HU to max.
- adjusted the gain on the rear, front and sub to the point where the sound was distorting and then backed off a bit (this is what it said to do in the amp manual
- connected the sub remote control. This does not seem to have much effect though. It was clearly working because the light was on

Has anyone been able to cram anything bigger than a 5.25 out on the swim deck? Got my Polk PA 4000.4 running the tower, put a second Polk db1040 in parallel with the existing sub, and now want more for the swim deck. I have some Roswell 6.5 R1's but don't want to cut before I know. It looks tight!

Seems like someone posted that they up sized to the JL 7.7's on the swim deck.

I've seen that done on the 242X, but the 4.5 inch hole that comes stock uses almost all the flat are on the back of the swim deck. I'll search the forum again in case that is true.
