@thcobb1 I use 4 50lb wake ballast bags in the rear corner too. Don't know why you're not that deep...we only have two in the boat when surfing.

So you are putting another 200lbs of lead on the surf side? Are you tucking this in compartment under the seat all the way back or placing this elsewhere?

@thcobb1 We place a couple of bags in the corner by the corner speaker on the seat. Put one yesterday in the middle where you step over the swim deck and put another on the floor. We usually play around with the bags to get the biggest effect.

Spent some time with the guys at WakeMakers Monday to look at the 17 212X. Their recommendation is basically to copy @bobbie. They would tear our the hard tanks and sink a 1100-1200 lbs bag in their place that would take up the rear storage compartments too. The question is can we change the timers that Connext controls to fill and drain the bigger bags. Even with 1100-1200 per side AND the center locker we may still need more weight out back. I may try it this winter if we can figure out the timer though. That plus a wake wedge makes for a fully push button system. No external bags is my goal.

Side note - I have been experimenting with a Malibu style power wedge (downforce adding fin) that attaches to the surf-side pump, but so far @Blenderhead has it right - there is no replacement for displacement.

geohil. Are you just ordering the bags as they were designed for Bobby? Do you mind sharing the cost/bag or did they quote that for you? Maybe if we order more than one set at a time we can make it cheaper.

212/210 group buy!

I hate my hard tanks.....I would much rather have bags that took up the entire void. Did they say how hard it was going to be to take out the hard tanks?

We did not talk price. I told them I'd bring the boat back over this fall so they could scan it and get an accurate idea of size, weight, and price. I'll keep everyone informed.

@Blenderhead - they made it seem like removing hard tanks is a daily event.

I had to send a Mastercraft back to the factory where they split the upper shell and hull apart around the entire rub rail in order to remove the center belly tank that developed a leak.

Yeah...just random experience.

I would be interested in a port side 1100lbs bag also.I have a 16' 212x. Would / could wake makers just make a copy of the bag from @bobbie boat dimensions? I am not sure but aren't the 13-16' 212's all the same under the seats?
I have been surfing also and feel like I am getting pretty close. I think a little more weight would be just the trick. I am at about 2000lbs total.

They should have her measurements on file - and yes her boat should be the same as yours dimension-wise. I forget who @bobbie had as a sales person?

Earlier in this thread she said her salesman was named Spencer.

I would also be interested in a group buy for my 2014 X. Should be identical to Bobbie's.

I wonder if the same bags would fit a 2012 ar210.

Bobbie, have you ever checked the alignment of you nozzles? I wonder if you got an unintended surf point.

Do you know the bag weights on each side? Same size bags on each side. Looks like swim deck bag is in middle . Seems odd you evenly weighted boat on back or am I wrong? Thanks
