None of the new gen hemi's are actually hemi's, it is more a pinched or semi hemi and no longer truly hemispherical. All a big marketing ploy for Dodge that panned out well for them and the name recognition.

Tyler
I’ve heard Camry are more hemi, actually, lol.

Thought I'd write a follow-up to some previous comments I made. Turns out, I was really spoiled using that WDH hitch and now I understand some of the comments others have made about noises and jerkiness. Seems that the WDH helped to more smoothly apply the trailer brakes and also reduced rattle on the ball. I towed my boat with just a regular ball hitch from the Marina to my house (about 17 miles - installed my Cobra Jets(!) and toilet, changed oil this weekend) and the experience is night and day. The Jeep really didn't care, though the front felt a little lighter - not scary or dangerous, just a little soft. But the trailer behavior was much different, especially when braking lightly. The WDH made towing almost dead silent without any of the jerking when going from acceleration to braking, and vice versa. So I'm pretty sure I'm just going to use the WDH anytime I tow the boat out of the marina.

Just an FYI.

Finally gave the truck a good wipe down Saturday and couldn't help but grab a golden hour shot as we about to head for home.

Although the state now says I have to pass emissions this month... so I may have to put all the emissions garbage back on... I'm a little upset about it. 😠

@J-RAD Looks like a great combination.

I'm fortunate that we haven't had emissions inspections in KY for several decades (or southern IN now that I'm a transplant). My current Sierra is the first vehicle I've had that DIDN'T have an aftermarket tune on it.

Thanks! I've enjoyed it. They haven't required diesels to be emission tested here in Utah County until recent legislation passed last year. I did the delete 3 years ago after the ERG valve started throwing a code. It was a completely different truck after the tune, and still runs very clean. It's been so nice not to have to put that DEF in it either.

But Salt Lake and Utah Counties become a giant soup bowl of air pollution in the winter when cold air gets trapped and holds it all in. So dirty diesels get made a target... in fact the Diesel Brothers recently lost a lawsuit resulting from their activities in illegally modifying diesel exhaust systems.

I could give a whole diatribe about how these added systems are net negative in reducing global emissions, but the fact is, locally every little bit probably helps... still sucks though.

Same here, no smog test in South Texas. My 2500 is all done up and rolls coal. A complete no - no here in Commifornia, the smog folks and 5.0 are all over the aftermarket add-on performance thing here. My 3500 has an intake and nothing more just in case I get pulled over for TX plates in CA.

My Jeeep has a DPF delete and reflash (Green Diesel Engineering will reflash Jeep ECUs so no extra wires to attract attention). When I lived in Cali I just ordered a skid plate that covered the area where the DPF went. Smog places are too lazy to really look up in there. Doesn't smoke when revved so passed every time.

Exactly why I don't want to mess with my emissions crap living here in CA.:banghead:

Picked up a new pickup a couple weeks ago...2018 Silverado with a Duramax, 6.5” lift, and 37x13.5’s. First trip out towing the boat, it pulled strong but was very thirsty. May need some air bags to level it out while towing.

I still don't know why people are going with this option to level-out, unless you plan to haul heavy stuff in the bed. A weight distribution hitch will do this for you AND improve braking/sway/noise.

I don’t know why I didn’t think of this. I just pulled a surge brake comparable WDH off my RV I’m selling. Didn’t even think of using it for my boat trailer. I’m going to get that set up!
