I’ve been thinking about this but I prefer to tow slightly tongue heavy. Most of my towing is between Flagstaff, AZ and Page, AZ on US-89A which is a rough road. The trailer gets squirrelly on all those jumps without a heavy tongue.
The WDH doesn't change the tongue weight; only moving the boat's center of gravity in relation to the axles will do that.

Yeah, I quoted the wrong post...meant to quote @J-RAD recommending moving the boat back on the trailer. Oops

New tow car is 2019 Ram 1500 Laramie.
Haven't towed yet and don't know what to expect. My first pickup truck ever. I love it!

My previous tow car was 2018 X5 35i. It towed amazing. I don't know what I will feel different. I don't know how it can be any better.

My borrowed tow rig last weekend. (Sorry about the pic quality.)
2000 Ram 3500 diesel, 6 speed manual. Not much on comfort, but towed the AR240 like a boss.

It will be a night and day difference. Unibody SUV’s with IRS can tow ok, but a full sized pickup with solid rear axle will always feel much more secure in that situation. You’ve got a full frame underneath. When starting and stopping the pickup will feel much more stable, as the rear suspension doesn’t change camber angles while the wheels move up and down. Extra torque for taking off too.

New tow rig. F150 got totaled by a LYFT driver running a red light.

Went with a 2019 Ram 1500 Classic (5.7L Hemi) with 4x4. Really liking the difference in how it drives. Haven't had a chance to tow the boat yet but I'm chomping at the bit to do it.107296

We got a dock for next several years so my towing needs are reduced. Traded the 2019 2500 Duramax HD LTZ for a 2019 1500 High Country gasser.

The front end was off putting to me when I picked up the 2500 this spring, now it’s grown on me and I like it.

2018 GMC 3500HD Denali

Picked it up at 4pm and went staight to the Yamaha dealer to pick up the boat and drag it home. As much as I loved the look, the ride is so much better without the 6" lift (probably better lifts out there). This ones a looker too! ? As you'd predict, it towed like there was nothing there. 16 year old me is living his dream. ?

The LP5 is a fantastic platform! There is so much torque and the transmission is buttery smooth.

Getting some mods done on the Tow rig. Don't have a pic with the Boat yet.

LOVE that bike rack. Which one is that? How well does it play with the cover underneath it?

I have a roll up hard cover (Truxedo Sentry CT), and have been looking for a way to put bikes on the truck. I DESPISE hitch mounts for a few reasons, and prefer to avoid regular roof racks on a vehicle this size.

Sharp truck BTW :D

I use adapters from summitracks that allow me to use Yakima 1A rain gutter mount towers. I have a rugged cover tri fold. Obviously you cant open it much when the racks are on, but their easy enough to remove with just one person when I have a need to use the whole bed. Its not often I need to take them off.

Awesome. Thanks for sharing.

Any issues with the cover leaking where it goes over the adapters?

I tow my boat with my other toy...
