Challege info available at the link above. We have done a money incentive in the past. I propose that if we don't have at least 6 people interested in the money round, then we continue with our mutual support and accountability and forego the money incentive.

You must also join the Weight Loss User Group on the forum. We don't post our personal details on the main forum. By using the Opt-In sub-forum, we limit the site scraping by Google and other search engine bots. To do this, click on your username in the upper right corner, then click "Join Users Groups". Scroll to the bottom and choose "Weight Loss". This will open up another forum at the bottom of the Forum listing, and any threads will now show in your Recent Posts page.

Only 4 interested so far in the money round, so not sure if we’ll set that up or not.

It’s not too late, you can still join up!!

Actually, you can join anytime throughout the challenge. We’re doing monthly winners, which are not cumulative. So, you would be eligible for the following month’s challenge after you joined. And, there is a cumulative overall winner. We may need to discuss among the group whether a late arrival would be eligible for the overall.

The challenge is just for bragging rights.

The real goal here is to help provide support to each other in being a little healthier. If the byproduct happens to be that we have more productive and active boating time, and fit those swim suits a little better... well, that doesn’t hurt either. :)

I will probably watch for a 2020 thread!
I lost a ton of weight while in the hospital due to horrid tasting food. But i am addicted to feeling amazing and have lost even more. I hope to have a 6 pack some day which boggles my mind when i realize i was actually 265 and even though doctors said i was healthy, i know what i feel like now.
Just motivation for anyone watching!

@Speedling am I reading that chart right? You lost almost 40lbs in like 4 days? The food couldn't have been that bad could it?

Lol no it was like 4 weeks.
When the nutritional lady came to check on things I just told her bring me fresh fruits with every meal. I figured fresh fruit to be good and wouldn't be bland. But yeah, i was recovering from a fist sized spot of damage on my right hemi and healing took a lot out of me. Had my wife stop for a chili cheese dog on the way home. They prescribed be an antidepressant that has a side effect of helping muscle growth but it screwed my brain up bad to where i didn't eat even when home from hospital. So like 3 weeks in hospital and a week or so afterwards i hardly ate. Then i went to outpatient therapy which became like a personal trainer. I told that guy I wasn't gonna stop till i would sweat every day. He was awesome. But now i am focusing less on weight and more on bodyfat content. 18.7%according to the scale. I want to get to 15%. I don't think i need the body builder like 12% but who knows. I do feel great.

I think the dates are wrong too.
My stroke day i had weighed in i thought at 265 on april first of 2017 then when back home and feeling good again i was 225. I had 3 months before i was cleared to go back to work.

Lets go with a new 2020 thread.

As of this morning.....I've ridden my bicycle (indoors) every single day this year. That is a new goal of mine. Ride the bike at least once a day for an entire year.

I also weighed 227 on the scale this morning. Up 2 lbs from my 2018 weigh in here, and my personal record heaviest ever. NOT moving the right way so far this year.

Man I should have gotten in on the 2019 challenge. I went from 282 (fat bastard) down to 228 (less fat bastard) in 12 months. Sadly I've always exercised so 100% of it was diet and I'm not even talking sweets. All of it was portion control and drinking less beer of course. You figure out what a 2,000 calorie diet really is and exercise regularly on top of that, no need for any special diet. Still want to get that last 15 lbs in 2020 before I turn 41!.
