Deposit For 2021 Yamaha and still waiting?

just wanted to clarify, its been almost 5 months, i put the deposit in July 30. looking on out of state they have some AR190 and AR195 on lots but New Hampshire is just to far away, over 18 hrs one way. Its crazy.

Do they get boats on the lot during the season? is this wait just because its early release and covid issues? Would it be better to cancel this and wait to go somewhere closer like AL or northern FL to get one once there are more on the lot so I dont deal with these guys?

Just a suggestion... if possible, keep your order standing so you are still in line....but go shopping anyway. If you find something, then cancel your order.

ya thats what I am doing, I am actually looking at the FSH190 now...but if I do I will look for another dealer

Barney's St. Pete has had multiple SX190 uncalled for. We were calling every few weeks to see if a 250 was in stock to check out. They seemed to always have a SX190.

I am on the list for Cycle Springs but I just talked to Barney's and they also have a wait list. I believe they are telling you they have boats on order that have technically not been sold, but they do not have these boats. They just offered me a used 2016.

As for Cycle Springs, I just talked to the manager and he is now telling me February, which would be a 6 month wait. Just awesome, right? There is a major supply chain problem, whether Yamaha wants to admit it or not.

Barney's deposit is $1000 and Cycle Springs is $500, for what it's worth. At this point, I can't give up my place in line, nor can I justify making yet another deposit for boats that clearly don't exist.

It's prob been a month since we last called them. They had boats in stock we could walk on when we called. Guess the christmas rush is in lol.

@Rhyder I’m from the Atlanta area too. I tried Park Marine and realized in about 10 minutes you should never do business with them. Horrible service. Have you tried Marine Max? They are showing to have an AR195 in stock at their Lake Norman location. Prior to buying my boat I almost purchased new with them. Had a much better experience. They also have a location in Savannah. Only a 3 hour drive.

@Rhyder I’m from the Atlanta area too. I tried Park Marine and realized in about 10 minutes you should never do business with them. Horrible service. Have you tried Marine Max? They also have a location in Savannah. Only a 3 hour drive.

I did try Marine Max, they were the ones that got slapped down by Yamaha for trying to sell me that boat. Their Yamaha division is in NC, Park Marine apparently has the monopoly here. he wasn't even allowed to quote me a price.

I have seen someone else post on the boards they were refused because they couldn't purchase a boat out of state, they had to go through the local dealer. I guess it depends on what sort of sweet heart deal is made with yamaha.

I have gotten a few messages from people who have had to or are dealing with Park Marine, and all I can say its not the best feelings, I guess if you have a monopoly some will abuse it.


Here is what marine max told me after I enquired:

"I owe you an apology as I thought perhaps we could sell you one of the Yamaha’s at our Carolina store, but after talking to Yamaha and verifying if we could sell one to you or not, we can not. We aren’t a Yamaha dealer here in the Atlanta area, Park Marine has that dealer agreement, and Yamaha is insisting that we direct you to them. Every brand has dealer agreements and other dealers can’t sell into their designated market and Yamaha was adamant in this case. "

@Rhyder keep your head up and keep looking. Hopefully the used market will pick up as the weather gets warmer. I ended up buying a used Yamaha a couple months ago. In Georgia you won’t have to pay sales tax on used private sale boats. Could end up saving you thousands on top of a lower price for a used boat. Not sure what exactly you’re looking for or what lake you’ll be on. I live near Buford and keep the boat near Lanier but I usually head up to Hartwell to avoid the craziness of Lanier on the weekend.

ya the boat industry is crazy right now. i was initially looking for a used boat, but here in GA they cant keep them on the lot. one dealer told me that covid has caused an over 500% boat sales increase, he was like he hasnt seen anything like it in all his years of selling used boats, so there are no deals on used boats and they are asking for max price, and still cant keep good boats on the lot.

I guess if you are selling this is or was the time to do it.

this will be my first owned boat, I have rented them in the past, so i dont really want an old boat for the hassles that usually come with them.

I am now sort of looking at the FSH 190 now, so may or may not change. Still on the list though.

I live on the east side of atl, so Lanier is the closer of the two, Altoona as the other one.g, though Jackson probably isnt all that far.

i hear if you go further north on lanier, put in around Dawsonville area it doesn't get to crazy

Also heard from our yamaha rep that we wont see anymore 19fts until at least January. 252 and 252 FSH are currently only going to be available to anyone who already had a deposit. We cant take any new ones at least until they are caught up. Craziness.

Current stock we have is 190 FSH Sport Teal, 212XD Green,, 212XE Green, 252S Blue, SX210 White, AR210 Black just in today.

I question if this is even legal. I am sure even a hair of pressure there could get you the ability to buy where you want.

So I’m guessing that the average is 4 month wait time from scouring the forums. I deposited October 1st for a FSH 210. Late January, early February I’m thinking.

I ordered my 210Fsh Sport on August 12th (127 days) And still waiting, good luck out there

From my understanding, if the boat isn't available where you are located any dealership can sell to you. We have sold many customers out of state models they could not find elsewhere because of the stock we usually receive.
