To those who refueled what did you use or find easiest to manage in open seas? Taking 25 extra gallons would give us 55 gallons total and it would be 2-3 adults with minimal extra gear to keep the boat as light as possible (I estimate approx 850-875 lbs of gear and passengers + extra fuel). We were thinking of taking it in 5 gallon jugs to handle it easier if the fuel transfer pump fails

I wouldn't mess with a fuel transfer pump just take 5 gallon cans so the can be easily handled. Maybe make a hose extension so you don't have to hang over the edge to refuel.

And practice this transfer. My transfer process includes ratchet strapping the fuel can to the wake tower to hold the can up

USED to be $40 a dozen...

Lately it has been $60 to $80. It depends on the size of the summer bugs and the size of your boat :winkingthumbsup"

EDIT: This post has been edited to provide correct designation of famous Bahamian seafood fare: summer bug. Which is not to be confused with lobster.
yep, stole that...

My favorite Bimini breakfast (xxxxxxx [summer bug] w/arugula pancakes):
Wait... where is the pancake, lol?

Lobster are out of season while we are in Bimini but summer bugs are an excellent alternative!

If you do not catch a summer bugs boat there are plenty of opportunities for inexpensive lobster at the local restaurants.

Both eating establishments at Bimini Sands have reopened with prices that attract local customers. I expect that they will offer lobster and conch options.

The Thirsty Turtle had decent lobster for a reasonable price and is walking distance to the NE of Bimini Sands. I am uncertain if it has reopened after the hurricane but I bet the June group will be able to tell us.

Our best lobster experience last year was @Valerie’s recommendation of My Three Daughters which is just south of the Resort’s World gates. I remember this pair being around $15.

I booked the marina from Sat 7 - Mon 9 and from Sat 14 - Sun 15.
Being an oversize load we can’t travel weekends (but we will “transport from the water” on Sunday up to Palm Coast where the first weigh station is. Shhhhh, don’t tell anyone....)
