Kyma K7 Wakeboard Boat (jet drive) Video

Amazing of you to join! The internet can be a brutal place, as you can see. I'm like @anmut. I'd LOVE LOVE LOVE a V-drive, but my family isn't 100% lake based. My wife loves taking our boat down to the beach where we grew up and sandbar hopping. I've got to please her and try and please myself...

Kyma K7 Wakeboard Boat (jet drive) Video

He's active on FB too and responded to things I've posted. Pretty impressive, but I reckon he's pushing hard for exposure. Which makes sense it being a new brand.

Kyma K7 Wakeboard Boat (jet drive) Video

I would say yes, for the price point, you're looking at a proper vdrive - BUT, not everyone that wants a great wave can boat on water that's consistently deep. Enter the jet advantage for us river rats that need to get through some shallows to find the deeps. Since getting into watersports, my...

Kyma K7 Wakeboard Boat (jet drive) Video

The engineering and the design are great. They seemed to borrow a lot from Yamaha in terms of layout with the bow seating, and the passenger captain's chair setup is just like my AR240 had. I watched the video and commented some thoughts on it a couple weeks ago and the founder of Kyma (Edward...

Kyma K7 Wakeboard Boat (jet drive) Video

...However, I agree with your assessment. I bet used they'll be had stupid cheap in a few years. $150-170k gets you some really really nice v drive boats that will crush that wave. It needs an additional 500-1k lbs to really see what that wave can do. It's obviously way better than the Yamaha...

Kyma K7 Wakeboard Boat (jet drive) Video

Looks like a Malibu, but with a jet drive... hmm Edit - 1/2 way through this video and I'm IMPRESSED. It's like every feature I love about my Yamaha with every feature I love about a v-drive. Plus Seakeeper?! 3k pounds of ballast?! WTF

Thoughts and demo rides of wake / towsports boats: Moomba Max, Axis A22, MB Sports

I'd own a v-drive tomorrow IF we didn't live on a river that can go from 12'-3' in a matter of yards... ugh.

255 FSH (or center console) musts!!

Thank you for the awesome reply! If I read that correctly you are using the Garmin to view the Sionyx and the OEM Simrad NSX to view the radar as an overlay on the chart plotter ? Another member here who has a 2022 or 2023 255 FSH Sport mentioned that the Simrad GOs’ processor was at its...

255 FSH (or center console) musts!!

The 2024 comes with a Simrad NSX. That doesn't support an external plug in video. Thus, the Garmin screen. The radar is connected to the Simrad. The Garmin and Simrad are connected via NEMA, so the Garmin does read the transducer, but not the radar. The Sionyx is under the front T top (is...

A new jetboat brand just launched

...and scarab). And yeah the motor being based off the F250, I think, it's a pretty low redline. At 150-170k there's a TON of well established V drive brands. I'm not sure what their target market is. The budget area probably would have been better suited. If they would have gone with all...

Charging Scenario - Replace DVSR with DC-DC Charger?

Love the enthusiasm to make your awesome boat even more awesome.. the LFP batteries are pretty remarkable in their ability to store a lot of energy, maintain their voltage, and charge 5 times as fast as a FLA battery. FLA batteries are tough though, you can beat them up pretty good and as long...

Saying goodbye….at least for a while

Congrats, don't be a stranger...This forum is jet propulsion centric as in jetskis, inboard jetboats and OB jet lower units, but I find myself with 5 OB motors and sails for 2 sailboats. Lol. A bunch others with OB and V drives. Good luck to you in your new CC.

    Show us your tow rigs!

I have a couple right hand drive Holdens in my neighborhood, I’m guessing imports for military personnel at the Air Force base. Pretty cool to see, kinda like spotting a unicorn. Buick has come a long way with design, but I’m not seeing kids in their late teens or even 20s lining up at the...

Those crazy b*stards at Ram actually did it

Ah, I see what you're saying now. I suspect that even with losses, the v6 can produce enough power to charge the battery while towing something at highway speeds on flat ground, or going downhill (which will benefit from regenerative braking too). It's not going to out tow a Cummins ram up...

2018 SX-210 TR-1 Engine anode pulled today. What do you think?

My version Watched the video multiple times..... then started work. Port Engine= enough room to replace without removing intake out and in with replacement in like 45 minutes finished 3 days ago. Starboard engine= almost enough room to replace if you wear small gloves....my hands wouldn't...

    Small Children/Sound concerns while boating

Same boat here......Just trying to do better than my parents did. I haven't noticed any hearing issues from our little one. I mean, he's 5 now and hears what he wants, but that's more of a selective listening than a functional problem with his ears :D

    Small Children/Sound concerns while boating

...don't cosider the boat loud, as others have mentioned, just a different frequency. I've boated my whole life, I/O, outboards and direct drive/v drive boats. Mainly, was just trying to figure out, if people have put hearing protection on small children for their jet boats, or haven't and...

Is Yamaha 210 ever defined as “mid-mounted” engine?

Your limit is 20 feet. However as mentioned by @biffdotorg unless this is a marina or you signed an agreement upon purchase, there is no binding law that requires you to follow their "rules". Also, if the rules are there to limit wake size to reduce shoreline impact, that could mean wakeboarding...

Is Yamaha 210 ever defined as “mid-mounted” engine?

No, when they say Mid mounted, they mean the inboard ski/wake boats with the literal hump engine cover in the center of the boat. Very common ski boats and the configuration of choice before V-drives became popular. And preferable when wake sports took over.
