YDS Overheat Warning and Pee Tube Issues

The two rear pee holes in mine flow consistently, even on the hose. The front two, however have never flowed nearly as much and basically zero perceptible flow at idle (on the hose or in the water). I’ve always chalked it up to a further distance required for the water to travel because once I...

Surface Mount 7" Chartplotter 230 Series

I completed this project last year after having it on the list for several years. I always wanted a chartplotter to class up the dash and electronics in the boat as I've been envious of the 2015+ dash, but I've never liked the tacked on look of a chartplotter sitting on the top of the dash or...

    3D Printed Switch Panel

I'm a big fan of PETG also and I have had stuff outside for two years in the sun without any issue so perhaps the UV/heat thing is overblown. I printed some gauge bezels for the boat and wound up using ASA just in case since it's supposed to be better at UV resistance, but this year I noticed...

    3D Printed Switch Panel

My understanding is that ABS can withstand something like 105* C versus PETG which is more like 85* C but it’s hard to know what is true and what the blends of each roll of filament actually are. I think it turned out great. Layer lines are always much more visible in pictures than in person...

    3D Printed Switch Panel

How did this turn out? Did you consider printing it in ASA and then vapor smoothing it with acetone? I'd like to hear about your process in measuring and designing this to be so close to the OEM trim. I attempted to do this last year with a surface mount chartplotter but I could never get the...

Adding bushings to steering deflector nozzle to increase precision (remove slop)

I contemplated buying a 3D printer for at least a couple of years thinking all I would print was trinkets or other non-useful things and really, how much of that can you do? After I started working from home I figured hey, I could probably find some decent designs and justify a couple hundred...

Adding bushings to steering deflector nozzle to increase precision (remove slop)

I just had mine apart to do steering cables again and they did the exact same thing--holding up really well other than the flange coming off on the top on the starboard side. I'm pretty impressed with PETG thus far. I've had it dunked in brackish water for hours under pressure from the water...

    2009 AR230 mooring cover

I attempted that with my last cover. I can’t remember exactly but warranty was a non-starter. I think the warranty is through Yamaha since they are the OEM.

Replacing steering cables on a 2008 Yamaha SX 230 jet boat

I just had to do this again having uncovered my boat for the year and could barely turn the steering wheel. I could not find the Seastar cables for a reasonable price. In 2018 they were $240 shipped for both, everything I could find now was like $350+ for the pair. I saw someone posted to...

    2009 AR230 mooring cover

I considered buying two last year, thinking next time I need one it won't be available. If it is, it'll probably be twice as expensive if I can even find it at all. I'm really not looking forward to replacing it, I may have to go custom and that's gonna be more than a trailer.

    2009 AR230 mooring cover

This is an interesting statement, it’s the most expensive maintenance item for me as well, by far.

    2009 AR230 mooring cover

I’ve only seen slight changes when comparing the one from 2017 or so to 2022. It’s slightly better in terms of ratchets and that zippered pouch but I just uncovered my boat for the year and saw a bunch of gray dust flying everywhere, so this one isn’t gonna last either. Not looking forward to...

232 Limited Audio Upgrades - Rounds 1 (Polk), 2 (JL), and 3 (JL)

    1) I can't remember exactly but I don't think the head unit has two RCA outs. Doing it this way I don't have any front/rear balance control. I planned on adding a knob like this to adjust the volume, but thus far I've been able to get away without it...

Not Sure How this will Go......<Pool or boat?>

I think costs were fairly static for many years, and then COVID hits and everybody wants a pool and labor is dramatically more expensive (along with everything else). Based on what I've heard, the one I installed in 2018 would be at least 50-60% more expensive post-COVID. That's about the...

232 Limited Audio Upgrades - Rounds 1 (Polk), 2 (JL), and 3 (JL)

    1) Yes, I did use the factory Sony head unit. Frankly with Bluetooth I never really touched it other than to turn the volume at a certain level and I didn't feel like modifying the rear control hole (which I also barely use) to another shape that something like a Fusion uses. All that said, I...

Not Sure How this will Go......<Pool or boat?>

We started with an above ground pool years ago just like that. I didn’t go to that extent but obviously we did level the yard and bring sand in. We moved to a new house and bought a bigger one, and then put in an in ground pool a couple years later. We use the in ground pool far and away more...

Anyone make and sell parts with a 3D Printer?

Is it PETG? If so, that should flex a bit and I've used it successfully a few times on not-so-flat surfaces. You could also use TPU which is one of my favorite materials, super flexible.

show off your guns here(fire arms)

Definitely good suggestions to try to see what you prefer by holding it, unfortunately with SCOTUS restoring our rights in this state, and then the governor graciously directing the Maryland State Police to eliminate "good and substantial" bullshit reasoning, all of the carry guns disappeared...

Anyone make and sell parts with a 3D Printer?

You should see it work in person. I'm still amazed by mine.

Anyone make and sell parts with a 3D Printer?

I’m here thinking man that would’ve been easier in millimeters and then I remember his username is “The Canuck.” 😄
