Navionics vs Argo vs Savvy Navvy vs i-Boating

Can anyone make a comparison of these apps and which is best for what reason? I mostly see Navionics mentioned but Argo and Savvy Navvy are making a go at it. I am mostly in lakes in the Midwest but will one day travel in to some larger destination boating.

    GPS waypoint - Yamaha 2019 212 Ltd S

I have a Yamaha 212 Ltd S. It came with a GPS which seems to work well. I have the following two questions: 1. Is there a way to change the chart to HeadsUp mode? If yes, how? 2. I live at Lake of the Ozarks. I would like to put on the water gas stations into the GPS as waypoints. Can I do this...

    Ram Mount on Dash-need blocking/backing?

I'm planning on installing a gps/fishfinder (Garmin 63cv) with a RAM mount....after playing with different locations i'm leaning towards installing the ball mount plate on top of the dash. The dash material seems a pretty thin there though. Was thinking of using some bolts through the ram...

    SR230 Chartplotter dash upgrade

Hello all, looking into adding a gps/Chartplotter this offseason. Just curious if anyone has experience with Garmin EchoMap chirp 53 or similar on these boats. Any pictures of mounting places would be helpful. Where did you put the transducer on the transom ? Also has anyone re-done the dash...

Amperage Interrupting Capacity (AIC) for fuses

I'm going to be adding a chartplotter/fishfinder to my sx210. I was planning on installing a new circuit back to the battery for the fishfinder and was going to copy the materials/routing for the stock radio which I believe is 16 gauge wire with a 15-amp blade style ATC fuse (see photo). When...

    Best In-hull (shoot-thru) transducer

So I've been trying to decide which chartplotter/fish finder to install in my 2019 SX210.....From what I've found so far, there seems to be plus and minus to the various brands (garmin vs lowrance vs hummingbird) and it turns into a chevy vs ford comparison. Since I've decided that I am going...

    Custom dash, instrument panel, Simrad!

***long read, pics below.*** So I've been working on this project since last season. I'll NEVER DO IT AGAIN. Ha. I started out with 3 goals. Installing Faria GPS Speedometer in 2009 212x

So after searching for a few days and pouring over the wiring diagrams in the FSM I determined nothing was really going to help me much. I wanted to leverage the stock speedo wires as much as possible. In the directions it mentions a black, purple, and blue wire. Wouldn't ya know that's exactly...

    iPad as a GPS/chartplotter?

I've been doing a bit of research on adding a chartplotter for an eventual trip to Lake Powell, etc. I really like the Garmin GPSMAP but wow are they pricey. I got to wondering if an iPad mini could be used instead. I've seen a few iPad's being used on some of the popular YouTube sailing...

    Humminbird Helix 5 G2 GPS/DI Install

Got the Humminbird Helix 5 mounted today. I opted for the RAM mount on the left side of the helm, but not in the isle. This was the most practical place to install it on my 2010 242 LS. Still have to fasten the transducer cable to the transom and it’s all done! Turned out great! The transducer...
