Yea what the guy who grenaded his motor did was reinstall the rubber gasket by itself without the ribbon. It got sucked in the motor because nothing was preventing the gasket from collapsing and it puked itself.

You reuse the rubber gasket with the RIVA sleeve.
@haknslash and @swatski .....and that's why people who aren't sure what they are doing should consult with someone who does before doing engine modifications. BTW - how your air enters your engine is an engineering topic of ALL high performance boaters. Doing anything to disrupt the smooth flow of air for a few bucks is not advised for performance or engine longevity. :cool:
