19’-20’ sx/at 190 radio : Fade Controls

Doe the 19’-20’ sx/ar model lines have fade control on the stock radio? I’m getting a 21’ AR190 which looks like the same basic radio.

Having fade controls saves me some money on a new head unit to bridge cabin speakers vs tower speakers.

I do not recall seeing any on mine. I'll check again next time I'm in the garage. From my experience, the sound is pretty weak. There are two speakers in the bow and two in the main area. As loud as the jet boats are, you won't hear anything at all while cruising. I really only play the radio when we're anchored.

My next project is to do some soundproofing in the engine compartment. Any audio upgrades are pointless until that is resolved.

One other thing to note, you cannot really hear the speakers when you're in the water either. The sound is directed into the cabin. I'm trying to think of ways to add speakers to the swim deck or find a way to strap down a waterproof bluetooth speaker.

Enjoy the boat though! They are a lot of fun, and you'll be able to do something cool with speakers up on that wake tower.

There are fade and balance controls. My Jensen has failed after about three months. Only one channel working. Going to put in a warranty claim.

It does have a fade and balance control.

does anyone know if it dims?
It’s way to bright when night boating.

Looks like you can press the power button to toggle the backlight

If you hold the setting (gear) button you can access the brightness setting.
