So my 2009 212X had the 2" drain break on me yesterday, the threaded part broke right where it goes through the fiberglass. This appears to be a drain hose to let water drain from the carpeted area right in front of the engine compartment. Does anyone know if this is a realistic drain, or some mandated thing from the government?

I am debating just removing the parts (drain/hose), completely and capping off the hole. It just don't see the point of a 2" hose running through my engine bay to the back of the boat (near the normal hull drain plug). Thoughts and recommendations?

1. Just find a new part and replace it and move on?
2. Find a plug that will seal it and look good?
3. Bust out the fiber glass and patch it? I suspect my gel coat patching skills won't be that great.
4. Add a second ballast bag intake?
- I have a spare pump I could use, just not sure I could fine a 2"intake, like the one on the left.

Inside view after my epoxy and silicone job. It didn't last the day boating, but didn't fully expect it to. You can see the ballast bag pump intake to the left of it.

This is what I am left with right now.

Do you know where I can get a stainless version? I found the original for $31 at Babbitts, plus some shipping. Finding a 1.5" barbed end, to a 2" through hull sounds like it could be challenging. I don't have a lot of boat part options locally, being in Utah.

@zipper is the man with that answer he’ll chime in with a link and more info on replacement. I haven’t gone to SS but mine was replaced last year.

In my opinion that’s an important safety feature, and agree with @Babin Farms you should replace with stainless. If you took a wave over the side of the boat you’ll appreciate the scupper system.

Deff replace it. As a salt water boater I have to do a good rinse down after every outing. All the water in the interior of the boat drains through that. I got curious one day and opened up the ski locker latch and just turned the hose on in the bow, the system is pretty good at draining all that water. If you got kids or anyone constantly getting on/off the boat or stuck in a rain storm, or store your boat uncovered you are going to start finding your floor turning into a swimming pool.

Agree with the link above...they are all within a few dollars, except for West Marine, they want $30 more. This was the tag.
