2004 Yamaha AR230
Engine SRT1000

For the first time in so many years I could not start the engines after a few months from the last use. My first conclusion was bad gas (old engines do not like ethanol !!!), since I thought that there were not much gas on the tank I filled it up with fresh gas (32 gallons), so I had about 18 gallons of 6 months old gas on the tank before. But it did not work. both engines still crank but wouldn't start.
1. Checked the kill switch and connections seems OK, after moving it up and down with no results I manually connected the wires to bypass the switch and still no start.
2. Checked if I got sparks on the spark plugs and yes I got spark on both engines.
3. Sprayed Starting Fluid on each engine to see if at least I would get an improved sign of starting, but not at all.
4. Tried to listen to the fuel pump noise to see if they were working and it sounds like they are as I try to crank both engines. I heard the noise, but cannot precise if with the correct pressure.
I am trying to avoid emptying the 50 gallons and adding a little "new gas" to see if it would work. I don't even have where to put so much gas
Things that I am planning to do"
1. Disassemble the jets to see if the old gasoline+ethanol has clogged them.
2. Checking Fuel Pumps pressure
3. Check the cylinders compression.

I understand that some of these things would be too much of a coincidence on both engines.

If you have any tips, please let me know!

Yeah, too much of a coincidence that neither will start. Especially after everything you've checked so far. I really want to still say it could be the kill switch at the helm though. That's where my initial concentration would be. Doesn't sound like a fuse either. Fuel pump may be next, but it should have started with the starter fluid.

Sorry, I couldn't help further, but there will definitely be some guys to chime in that will know.

You said you had spark and you used starting fluid so that rules out the kill switches and the throttle positioning sensors, the last thing needed is compression but both not starting is very odd I would check the compression on one engine and see what it is, also if the pump housings swelled as they do when not used much they can slow the rotation of the enguine enough to not allow the engines to start so spray some wd 40 in the nozzles to lube the pump liner and see if that allows the engines to turn fast enough to fire up I think this just may be the issue . Worth trying it
