Check your spark plugs...the TR-1 motors are sensitive to plug issues. Might be a "leaking" spark plug that is not giving a good spark at the tip.

Check your throttle stops as well, and make sure the Starboard throttle stops are hitting at full forward. Here is a video on how to check them.

Did it always go to 8. Most won't ever see 8k rpms
