I looked at the 255 X that is making its rounds at dealers on the east coast . The boat looks huge on the trailer but i noticed a roughly made hole in the anchor compartment . Please tell me this is not how they are produced0C7B9F7A-7B76-440D-B477-A94A37B5AB7A.jpeg

TBH it is probably how it is going to come out. Some of the fit and finish I find questionable.

I think that is a preproduction boat so it might not be like that.

No reason to be that sloppy with the sealant (silicone, really?) around the bow eye nuts/backing plate either. Use a real marine adhesive or hybrid. QC needs to step it up a notch. But we've know that for a while now.

Im aware of that , but there are preproduction models for sale , my dealer asked if i wanted one , i answered with a HELL NO

I didn’t realize they were selling the preproduction models. I’d tell them hell no too!

def a preproduction unit. I saw it this saturday when i went to orde rmy 255xd. There was a TON of questinable rushed workmanship on the 255xd. The fsh 255 and 275 they are bringing to the shows are done well.

I think the 275 that was there was the owners personal boat

My 2018 is worse than that. I think that’s just the way it is on Yamahas.

Im on my second yamaha boat and neither one had cup holders that didnt need to be re glued since day 1,.. minor stuff i know but it just shows their lack of Quality Control

Inside my 252SE the hole and the sealant aren't quite that sloppy but they're not beautifully finished off either. Not something I care about, it's covered up by 150 feet of rope and 6 feet of chain. FWIW, the exterior of the hole that can actually be seen is properly finished off.
