Placed our order for a 255XE on Sep. 17th. Then read a post from @mrcleanr6 about how great the Drive system was. So upgraded our order to a 255XD on Oct. 9th. Over 6 months later, it finally arrived!
Boat is amazing. Filled ballast tanks and used Wake Booster during water test, and the wake was really impressive. Connext features were great. We're coming from a 2010 AR210, so this is a dramatic upgrade. Couldn't be more excited.
Congrats!! We have our test drive on the exact same boat later today. Hoping we're impressed with the surf wave as we're upgrading from a 2008 AR210. Not expecting Malibu/Natique type wave, but hoping it's big/clean enough to easily go ropeless.

I didn’t see the wake myself. But the owner of the dealership I got it from who’s an avid wakesurfer was very happy with the wake it threw. I can’t wait to see it / try it in person.
Oh. And I forgot to post the hug to Big Red who gave me 310 hours of the best time I’ve ever had.

2021 212. Love this thing so far. Looking forward to many years of fun. And yeah, the manual says to tow with the Bimini stowed, but I was only going about 3 miles at no more than 45mph...
Water was like glass -- and we filled up ballasts to play with wake, but water was still 60 degrees and it was getting late so no one wanted to get in. We're going out Saturday and will hopefully have a few kids/people to brave the water and test out the wake. It's a lot better/smoother than my 2008 AR210, but it's not a Malibu/Nautique/Centurion type wave. Just hoping it will be easily surfable -- otherwise we may need to get a transom ballast bag.
Before any of you size kings chime in and make me self conscious technically these count.
remember it’s not the size of the tool that matters most, it’s how you use it.
Thanks @RobbieO . FYI they are the entry level models for each line (FX and GP) so no super chargers or cruiser seats but both have 1.8l motors and suit my wife and I perfectly. Also a lot less expensive to buy, use and maintain.
The pic was taken at Lake Oroville near Chico, CA. About 100 miles north east of Sacramento. One unique feature about this lake is that it has about 12 floating campsites that are well separated on various parts of the lake. I think they go for $120 per day. Each contains a head/toilet, bbq and a dock, maybe a solar powered light for the head. I’ve plan to stay on one as soon as I can / once the Covid restrictions are lifted.
I heard Oroville is limited to 5 mph right now...Thanks for the info...I’m down with that! I used to go to East Park Reservoir before the county took it over
If oroville is now speed limited, they just put the limit in effect since last Saturday because my wife and I were there last Friday and covered most of the lake in a little over two hours, a lot of times at WOT (60+ mph). The water level is low though and the park rep said he expects the lake to be closed to speed boating by mid-summer. It’s going to be a low water level season throughout northern CA. Even Lake Tahoe has indicated that one of its popular boat ramps will not open this season, it’s the first time I’ve ever heard of Tahoe water levels being so low.
