2021 Yamaha boats released today! no 24' yet though

My guesses:
AR250 will have the same engines (360) and 275 loungers
250x will have SVHO 500hp
August 12th, can not wait.

I hope they keep the current engine access that makes it easy to work on them. That limited access on the 275 makes me cringe.

Never thought of that. My waverunners are super easy. This will be our first boat.

@Beachbummer Don't you like the walkthrough though?
My personal opinion is that the current rear seat configuration in the 242 seems safer for those with small children (ie. kids younger than ~12) on board. This may be a judgment that lies more on the emotional side of the spectrum than the logical, but I’d be less comfortable with the walkthrough for my purposes.

@jim1 Interesting, I didn't think about that. Absent of a make shift gate or a mod, I see your point.

To each their own sir! I always have somebody sitting there behind the driver on the back bench with their legs on the part that would now be a table.
True....just pointing out the benefits to some. happy boating

Just saw this posted... 14 new boat models though?

I'll go out on a limb with my guesses on the 14 Models. What are your guesses?
SX250
AR250
255S
255SE
255X
255 SRF
250FSH Sport
250 FSH DLX
255 FSH sport

New 212X (SVHO)
212 SRF (SVHO)

275X
275FSH sport
275 FSH DLx

What I think would be cool is to see them hang a couple outboards on the 275.

Did you do the trademark search for Yamaha? That's usually where you can find these. SR has not been used since the two stroke days, what might that be? Except the SR line of cruisers being produced in Japan currently!

And the outboards on the 275 is not too far of a grasp, as it's already being produced in Japan. Their big outboard cruiser game is on point! They have the monster outboards to do it. Merc and Yamaha are killing that market right now.

Single engine on that thing? I wonder how big of a motor that is.

I would agree, single and offshore boat don't usually go together. I would say it's somewhere between 350 and 425hp. I don't think the 450 came in that shroud. I could be wrong. $50-$60K outboards are not in my pay grade. But watching the boat videos on YouTube showcasing a center console with Quint (5) 425 or 450 Racing motors does give me tingles!

Why would you put an outboard in a boat that size? So you could repower? Wouldn't an inboard be better and give you more space?

That's a great question, but for salt and offshore, the demand is for outboards. Easier to service, repower etc. It seems odd, but you have to look at the source of this product. Yamaha is an engine mfg first and foremost. So they will design products to use their engines.

Lots of big cruisers coming with OB now. My next boat will absolutely be an outboard. Easier to work on, easier to repower (if I ever keep a boat that long), and most importantly for me, being able to take the running gear out of the water to slip in salt water to reduce maintenance compared to an I/O or inboard.

Never saw those cruisers before today. They are BEAUTIFUL!
