Got a quote.
Stainless steel tabs are $544.80 for the pair.
Aluminum tabs are $121.20 for the pair.
Has anyone opted for the aluminum trim tabs?

I got the aluminum tabs! Work fine so far. The hinge is plastic which was weird but no problems.

Sounds like you got a great quote!

Yeah I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on the SS ones with the auto level controller. Had the SS on my seadoo speedster for probably close to 10 years, held up great so hoping for the same. Never had the auto level feature though.

I have the MLC controller. I only engage them when needed. Which isn't often. Personally I don't see the need for auto leveling. Been on a Yamaha with it and with it turned on. On our boats just a little deployment 1st or maybe 2nd, extremely rare, anything more is pointless and you will stuff the bow.

Yeah it doesn't need much... My 210 I feel like stuffs the bow without them wish it would come up a little more... Could get some more speed out of it.

The tabs are going to make it a bit worse if you are riding front heavy a bit. Basically, I only use tabs for one purpsose. circa 1-2 foot waves in big water where I need to make a long run. For me it is Lk. St. Clair. We run 5-10 miles crossing going out and then coming back in and the admiral gets slammed around in the mid to high 20's. With the tabs on and deployed to the first mark, it is like night and day. Anything calmer than that I do not deply. Anything much more than that I may or may not deploy but if it gets much rougher there is not point since I am going much slower.

With that being said, if I deploy the Starboard one fully by itself and have people sit over there I can get a really cool wake behind the boat for tubers and wakeboards who want to jump it.

Trim tabs on Yamahas wont help bow go up at all, only push it down more so you may not get the effect your looking for.

I was wondering: has anyone used wake ballast on the swim platform to bring the bow up? I was out in some nasty chop on Saginaw Bay. I managed it alright by staying off plane and cruising in the 10 mph range to keep the bow up. Would have loved to bring the bow up more, though.

I was actually out there 2 weeks ago! Hauled my boat up from Florida... I was really surprised the waves there get real close together it was calm at the shore, I went about 2 miles out got pretty roughed up! Its not near that bad on the Gulf even when the Gulf has bigger waves. Every time I got sprayed it felt off though, cold water and the taste was.... not salty not sure how I felt about it!

On a side note you must but one of only a few with a center console up there! I felt like it was a deck, pontoon and speed boats!

Had to represent Florida though!

Awesome. Yeah the waves up here in the great lakes and bays are much closer together. Takes some time to get used to them and get a feel for it. It can go from great to very nasty very quick.

That's my biggest complaint the bow needs to come up more! That is what has me hesitant on the trim tabs, I know they will give me a smoother ride. But my comment about wanting to bring the bow up was a complete separate one from the trim tabs sorry about the confusion. Like I said I have had these on my last boat for years and I had the opposite problem with the Sea Doo had to keep the bow down! Usually used the tabs at 1/2 to 3/4 down to smooth out. I just feel we could get another 5+ MPH if that bow would get up out of the water!

Like @HangOutdoors was saying, in 1 ft maybe 2 ft chop the tabs smooth the ride out, but anything more than that and I don't use them.

Yeah man, it gets rough! I was out about a month ago in 3-4 footers. It was stupid rough and the waves were close together, but I managed by staying off plane and hitting the waves at an angle going out.

Honestly I bought the boat before I ever went out on Saginaw Bay. Knowing what I know now, I probably would have gone with something that has a covered bow and a prop to trim the bow up. But the FSH gets the job done and it's a load of fun when it's calmer out.

Pretty sure the 25' FSH would handle it Much, Much better....... That is what I want when the time is right. :)

I think you're right. I put a deposit down on the 252 at Wonderland Marine, waffled a little bit, and backed down to the 210. Wish I hadn't done that, man!

Well Ryan just got in a 255 on aluminum trailer for $89,000 he posted earlier today. If I was in a position to do it I would jump on it.

Got my trim tabs in and was planning on installing today. However went to a bunch of different hardware stores locally and couldn't find the specified #14 1 1/4" pan head SS screws locally. Did you guys on here use that length on the 210 FSH I found 1 and 1.5 inch length locally, so I am curious how far through the 1.25 came through the fiberglass if an inch is too short or if 1.5 is too long? I called Lectrotab and they said that's just a suggestion on length and it all depends on your boat.

The Fiberglass is surprisingly not that thick. You could use either. Remember that the 5200 that you use is strong stuff. 1.5" will work fine and nothing that will be affected.

Yea I didn't remember it being that thick when I did my transducer, just wasn't sure if 1.5 would be too long especially for the top mount on the actuator.
