Abaco, Bahamas trip June 2017

Well @Ramblin Wreck got a practice run in the garmin gps said it was 69 mile probably about 60 miles of it offshore whole trip was less then 2 hours. I will get you some footage later but its probably boring as it was pretty good conditions which is a little disappointing and not usual for here. here is a link to my track.

Very nice @robert843. That's really good time for that distance. Hopefully we will get equally good water in a few weeks.

@Ramblin Wreck here is a minute or so of footage from Saturday. The were calling for 2 foot seas winds of 5-10 knots but it was probably 1-2 foot seas at like 10+ seconds it was really calm the whole ride. Very similar conditions to the last 50 or so miles from Chub to Bimini last year where it just laid down finally for us. I took it easy on the first half of the trip running about 35 mph the hole way I stayed at 40+ mph most of the second half of the trip fairly easily.

Anytime you can run 40 it's a great day on the water! Hearing the jet disconnect gets me yearning for the Bahamas.

That's some great riding. I never get those kind of conditions in my riding area around Oak Island. I managed to do my 1st summer 32 miles training run around the island this past weekend on one of my old 07 Yamaha FX HO and ocean front part of the ride showed me real quick what a difference not riding for a few winter months makes. Had high winds and washing machine chop and barely manage to hit 30MPH occasionally until I almost ate handlebars a few times. ;-) Nevertheless always a blast! ;-)

Yeah I usually see those same conditions I was actually disappointed to pull out in that nice of conditions I was hoping for a little bit of a work out hopefully this weekend is a little more sporting.

Come up to OKI by oceanfront way this weekend, I am sure U would find some great training conditions as well as pretty solid training run! ;-)

Which sites have y'all found to be the most accurate in wave/weather predictions?

Modern Seaweed is pretty good for close to shore forecasts also

Was this a ski? Over 30mph on the crossing and then upper thirties on the bank is about as good as you could ask for.

Yes this was a small group of skis but this tracker was on a FXHO ski. Described the conditions about the same I saw out there yesterday crossing to west end was 2-3 foot but at a 8 second period so it was super clean once the got on the bank it was glass as the island was blocking the seas. He said he could do this trip 10 more times and never see conditions like that again and he may be right.

That's awesome and they deserve it after getting some rough seas on their return trip last year. Let's hope it will do the same in a few weeks.

Well my trip officially started about an hour ago see you guys down in west palm!

Made it to St Augustine so only have a short trip tomorrow which will be nice.
