Abacos 2019

I don’t think it’s a closed group there are just two different groups going I could be wrong though as I’m not a member of either group.

It appears the Bimini trip is a no-go. Just looking to (hopefully) hook-up with a group of boaters. More fun with a group. I'll keep-a-looking. Thanks for commenting. :)

There is a June and July group currently forming in two other threads on the forum did you see those two? They are looking for others to join for sure.

Hi! Thank you but it sounds like an all guy trip. Wife probably wouldn't go for it and I wouldn't go without her.

This is a family trip the wifes and the kids are coming to

@Amar Nanduri is taking guys trip, but there are 2 different people going to abacos this summer. Someone else is taking a trip to exuma as a private group. At least 2 people are going to bimini one in June one july.

Oh, ok. Sorry for all the confusion. I read it right the first time (I really need a vacation).

How many boats have signed up/going so far?

Hi. You can happily join us for the July trip. It is an all guys trip though. We are going in 2 boats. What kind of a boat do you have?

Currently 3 boats
Cool! How many usually end up going? Have you already done this trip or is this your first?

I have a 2017 223 VRX (see sig). I'd love to go (on a guys trip), but would have to send my wife somewhere too. Maybe if the above trip doesn't work out for us...?

3 boats for now
We went last year to Bimini with a larger group from this community and had a blast
Going to Ábaco for the first time

@Gadiel , Please count me in. Is there someone spare heading this adventure? Where are you staying in Abaco? What info do you need from me?

I called the Parks and Recs and inquired on Phil Foster Park. There max stay is 4 days then they tow. They said to contact the Lake Park Marina.

I called Lake Park Harbor Marina. They charge $28 per day for overnight parking plus $10 to launch. No max on how long you stay.

We rented a condos in Treasure cay through VRBO (they are going fast)
We plan to leave from WPB or Jupiter depending on parking arrangements for the truck and trailers. We are considering Lake Park Harbor marina $$ very pricey or someone recommended to park in someone’s privet property on Jupiter Farms that guy charges $50 for 8 days
The plan is to leave early in the morning for West End re-fuel, clear cuatoms and head to Spanish cay re-fuel and so the last stretch to treasure cay

In Tequesta, FL and Jupiter, FL I think you maybe able to launch, store a truck/trailer and stay at. They have some marinas in the area that you could leave the boat and many fuel sites. They have a lot of hotels around and such. Jupiter inlet is only a few more miles trip than West Palm. Just another area to look. I left my boat and launched from Tiki 52 in Tequesta for one of my West End trips.

Jupiter Pointe Marina may let you launch and keep a boat/trailer onsite there, it’s a pretty large marina. The area also has a few public launchs around, but not sure of long term parking or security.

I assume you're all staying at the same location? Where did you book?

Not sure where they booked but we stayed in Treasure Cay two years ago on our trip and I can tell you that you can book anything in Treasure Cay with a boat slip and you guys will be in the same Marina Harbor. There are lots of places there that include a boat slip right outside the unit that are reasonably priced. Cost wise Treasure Cay was a great bang for your buck since our unit included a boat slip.

Thank you! That helps a lot. Especially trying to get a condo with a boat slip.

Do you know how much it cost to rent a slip at the marina (just-in-case)?

I have no clue as there were so many units available with a boat slip we didn’t worry about it. You can’t beat docking right at your spot after a long day on the water I wouldn’t even consider a spot that didn’t have a dock there.
