Rebar staircase Pinterest find ! Spent 30 bucks at Lowes to make one test railing before Jerry would commit building it for me ! So far turned out slick can't wait to see it stained !

Got close to 60 in the garage with my GC building it.

The red truck is an 08 6.4 Diesel with 158,000.

Finally got the last of the siding up and the front door in but not stained yet. They are also are doing the tape and mud on the inside. I hope it doesn't take too long because our kitchen cabinets get delivered the 26th.




Also put up some of our outside lighting and started on our galvanized tin under the porch.

Tape and mud will prob be 2 days if sheetrock is already up. Sanding/cleanup another day. They taped and mudded 1600sqft house I just refinished in 1 day

Wow yeah, agree with @Wisefam22 - that's a 3 day start to finish job for 2 guys. On his own maybe 4-5 days. Guess the quality of the job better reflect it.

Little update. Things are starting to move finally. House is 80% painted, Cabinets were installed yesterday. They were missing one cabinet and some pieces so they will have to come back to finish. I got all of my railings up ( which turned out better then I thought they would ), waiting on them to do the flooring now. Lights are being hung, light switches installed.....etc. People are coming tomorrow to measure for the counter tops before they cut the granite. It is getting close.

3/8" rebar wiped down and clear coated, 4X4 cedar corner posts, 2x4 top and bottom rails, and a 1x4 for the hand rail part. We have a ton of time in sanding, staining, and clear coating but it was well worth it.

We used Keylock newell posts fasteners to lag the railing to the floor. We routered a pocket in the bottom of the past and put the lag bolt in the floor.

Getting really close to being able to move in. They are still working on the flooring but we have gotten the ok to start putting items in my daughters rooms. Here is my youngest daughters room ( 10 ). She wanted it pink. This is as bright as I would let her go.






This is my oldest daughters room. We are going to do a tin accent wall behind her bed which will be cool.





Got our shower installed and the vanity my wife loved. Drawers are out because they were doing plumbing.







And finally we got our kitchen counter tops in.
