Another House/boatel/campertel

That’s why I don’t understand the “tiny house” movement, people are spending more money on a storage shed to live in than they would if they bought a nice camper. I don’t get it.

I am in 110% agreement. This camper is 4 seasons.

Pics of the current situation.

Well just a little update. We have sold our house and will be moving out this weekend. Closing Aug 6th. We have a spot at a local rv park for a month so hopefully we can get temp electric, water and septic out at our property so we can get started on the house. House and garage plans are done and we have a physical address!! Just waiting on a bid to come back from my builder so I can submit to the bank and get this thing going.

Home for now. We hope to have septic, well and electric at the property by the end of the month. This thread will start coming alive VERY soon!!

Well, if you're gonna live in a camper then that's the one to be in. Very nice!:winkingthumbsup" Can hardly wait to see how your new home will progress. Hopefully you've got plans for at least covered storage for your Montana.

I love the your idea of building a Garage with a single attached House. Genius! :D:winkingthumbsup"

Garage is 50 x 60 with 2 14ft tall by 12ft wide doors and one 8ft x 12 wide door. Boat and camper will have their own bay. I cant wait!

So items are starting to move along. Septic is all in and the ground is starting to get moved around. i will have pics of the ground work tonight.

Do to the complexity of getting a fixed rate mortgage with a shouse we decided to split it up into 2 buildings. Here are the basic plans.

The Garage says 12x12 doors but they will actually be 14 x 12

That's awesome. Where I live I have a 50x155 lot and that's considered oversized haha.

I bet your lot is about that same value as my 20 acres also..... lol

If you don't mind me asking what are the property taxes on that? I always get a kick out of hearing what others pay and when I tell them what we pay by me they are shocked. My company has offices in Virginia and one lady was complaining about her 800 a year property taxes. When I told her I pay $13,700 for just my one house she was floored!

Off hand I think it was right around $1200 for just the land.

I'm almost 800/ month for 0.5 acre in San Diego. Didn't forget ca state tax at 13%, and sales tax at 8%. I pay 400/ yr for 0.5 acre in Arizona (but mobile home, so not a "fixed structure"). I hate taxes!

800 a month sounds great. My home at the shore where the boat is about 700 a month. for my two houses im just over $22,000 a year. Jersey is getting ridiculous. Anyway sorry to derail your thread I look forward to see how the building progresses.

Jersey is getting ridiculous.

Indeed. Starting to get serious about bouncing down south where I can use my boat more than 4 months a year.

Ok I was wrong......... Ready for this....... for 20 acres no structure. 25 bucks
