AR192 - Magma Kettle 2 Grill Install

Great job! I can smell those dogs cooking.

Sealing up that plywood is key in this install. I recommend sealing it with some epoxy resin. 5200 and polyurethane only prevent water from leaching in for so long before it fails or loosens.

I plan on doing this same install today. What kind of epoxy should i get? Thanks

Here's a low cost no mess option.

A polyurethane coating will break down quickly and provide no protection to the bare plywood edges which are deeply grooved and act like a giant wick. A penetration epoxy like listed above will protect for many years. If the area in question was not a flat deck and exposed to constant moisture, caulking would suffice.

I'm going the other corner tomorrow...so..guess I'll get the epoxy. Don't really think it's needed for this application. But better safe

Great. Here are some pictures of the install.
Sorry for the crap quality. I have dropped my phone one too many times and dirt has worked it's way behind the lens.

I opted to cut around the deck mat so the mount would sit against a hard surface.

And one better quality picture of the boat in the water.

Nice @travalab ...you'll love having it there. Also...if you think you'll be fishing...now you have a rod holder!

holy shit it's an @ArmyChief sighting!

Ironic how much this mimics the army, and the warrant officers are always nowhere to be found... ;)

Hope all is well with you buddy.

Hey @veedubtek ,

Yea..sorry I've been pretty absent. Found out I'm deploying in a few months. Been running around crazy trying to continue with my civilian job, military job, mandatory training, traveling, preventative maintenance on household items, paperwork & will...etc..etc.

Miss you guys!

Stay safe buddy.

Thanks @ArmyChief there goes another few hundred bucks. Looks awesome.
