I’m starting a project to 3D print a replacement cleanout gasket using TPU filament. I’ll be using a newly purchased gasket as a reference for measurements. This specifically is for the gasket in boat years 2017-Present F3F-67609-09-00. I am willing to work on a gasket for part F0R-67609-09-00 in boat years 1999-2016. I'll need someone to help me as I have no gasket to measure, no boat to measure the cleanout profile, and no boat to test the gasket.
My first prototype will be printed with Bambu Lab TPU for AMS (68D hardness). While this is likely firmer than ideal, it should serve well for initial testing. If needed, I’ll switch to a softer TPU (around 30D hardness) for better flexibility and sealing performance. I used to work in a lab with access to durometers and hardness testers, but I no longer have access to one. If anyone has an idea of the hardness for these gaskets, let me know.
I plan to modify the gasket profile to incorporate the O-Ring profile from @TeeNGee ’s O-Ring Find. The goal is to eliminate the need for a separate O-Ring while ensuring a reliable seal every time.
Let me know if you have any ideas. I will need a few of the pros on here to help me test these if I am successful. My boat is an hour drive from any major body of water.
