I've spent about 5-6 weeks working there in the past 3 years. LOVED every minute of it. I never felt like I belonged anywhere until I visited TX. Abeline, Dallas, Nagadoches, Austin, Houston, San Antonio, Galveston, love them all. In fact, we ordered a brisket from Black's in Lockhart TX for Easter dinner, and I make it a point to visit there EVERY chance I get. I plan to live somewhere in TX within the next 10 years.
To expound to the OP, no borders are outright "closed". I have guys travelling all over the country, no issues anywhere as long as you haven't been in NY or LA.
Wondering if I can slip in and out of NY without catching the Rona...
Price is pretty good for the motors... LONG ASS DRIVE THO !
Still considering a pair in TX too.
GA is open. All state parks for camping. All boat ramps. Now I dont want a bunch of crazies but if you want to take your house and camp/hang on boat with who lives in your house then go for it.
We were at coast 2 weekends ago headed to mountains this weekend to camp.
Only bad thing about GA state parks in coast is they arent on the beach but inland and the no see ums suck.
Just drove from IN to NE last week. I set cruise around 75-77 most of the time. General rule of thumb for me is "under 9 and your fine", but tend to keep in the 5-7 over range.

The highways here the speed limit is 75. Usually cruise at 85. I hear you on the 9. I (try to) stick to the 10% rule, but If I'm constantly being passed than I kick it up to keep up with traffic. I'm a firm believer in using the Waze app. Never leave home without it!

I used the Google maps version with that same functionality on my drive last week. The speed traps were usually just marked OK, and I couldn't report them as fast as I was coming across them.
I've also never seen a 75mph highway, must be an out west thing. Best I saw was 70 which was pretty common.
Did have a few times where I hooked in with another land train of vehicles and ran 80-85 for awhile, but just felt excessive and risky for me to maintain that in a 70 zone.
I'm gonna go back and check my logs and see what I averaged over the trip. I track miles and engine hours. Should be pretty straightforward.

Waze is the best. Beyond its "cruising with confidence" aspects, more than once it has given me warning that allowed me to slow down and/or change lanes to avoid large potholes, objects in the road, and similar.

This happened Saturday on the way home somewhere between Kansas City and Columbia, MO.
Had the app alert me to a speed trap, and I was stuck in the left lane with the cruise set on 77 in a 70. Clicked off the cruise and coasted down to 73 or so as I crested a hill, and could CLEARLY see the trooper in the median with the gun out the window. Little Chevy Equinox comes FLYING up on my bumper, close enough I can't see his headlights. As soon as I clear the semi in the right lane, he hammers down and passes me on the right, flipping me the bird, just as we both pass the trooper. Watched the trooper for a minute, and he didn't budge.
Trooper doesn't move a bit, we clear the next hill, and I resume my 77 setpoint. About 30-45 seconds later I see the trooper hauling tail, figured he's coming for me since I was ahead of the line as we crested the hill, so I move over. Nope, he blazes past and just about locks up the brakes on his explorer as he closed in on the Equinox that passed me on the right. Followed him tight for about 2 miles and on come the lights.
Would've honked at the Equinox if the trooper wasn't out of the car by the time I went past.
