Looks good..let us know how the transom saver holds up. I want to do the same thing. I avoid screwing into the hull at all costs, especially for a transducer that has a life a lot shother than the boat.
I do not know what the accessibility is on the inside, but can you mount a smaller thru hull, like what @Julian used, Amazon.com: Boating Accessories New SEACHOICE Cable Thru-Hull Fitting-Black SCP 17901: Industrial & Scientific
And mount on the horizontal surface a couple inches above the one, thru hull, in the picture. That may get you out of the water, most of the time, as I don't think they designed the ladder to be below the waterline. The fitting could be mounted back into the corner and the cable does a neat 90° bend.
Here's one that was placed basically the only place you can on the scarab. We keep our boat in morrage all summer, I just dont know that i would trust this .. it is below the water line ... View attachment 147105
I am in the same boat with my 195 open I have a thru hull that came with it but want to install my 3n1 total scan. I have made my own transom saver plate but I will probably still uses 2 screws for it. I haven't decided on where to go thru on hull. was thinking of a side access wire like this or the black one shown. But may remove ladder and tuck it next to it.
